This appliance "repair" company came to my house and read a sticker on the side of my refrigerator and told me that since my refrigerator was still under warranty that I would have to go through the manufacturer to repair the refrigerator. They tried to charge me $125 to do something that could have easily been handled over the phone during an intake/appointment process. I knew something was wrong with my refrigerator and I was happy to use the $125 service charge they told me I could put TOWARD a repair, but they refused to repair and still tried to charge me for something that easily could have been avoided with better communication and customer **********************.

When a customer calls ********************** ***  they  are speaking with a RECEPTIONIST that takes the service call and sent out a TECHNICIAN whom provides a professional diagnostic on the appliance. the technician is the specialist, not the receptionist.  If the receptionist tell the customer to call the factory because the ********************** is  under warranty and the factory gets there and the appliance is not  under warranty the charges is sometimes more than our service charge ($125). Customer will often times call us back wanting to hold us responsible for that fee because it was our suggestion. It is  the  customer responsibility to know their warranty coverage on their appliances not AAA Appliance! Thank you,  AAA Appliance Service ***

I am rejecting this response because:

It is deceptive to tell someone a $125 service charge can be applied to the repair but not make clear that if the unit is under warranty they will not service the unit. I am sure, in their line of work, this happens all the time. Instead of improving their intake process they make a business out of sending repair people around town collecting service fees without actually helping the customer get the help they need. I would have been happy to have my fridge repaired and put the $125 charge toward that repair (as advertised), but instead someone shows up and reads a label on my fridge, tells me I need to call someone else, and now I owe them $125 for this service. Sorry, this is clearly deceptive and its bad business, and its being rewarded because the business is getting a steady income stream from it. I am not going to perpetuate a terrible business practice of ripping off customers because you cant take the time to train your receptionists on a proper intake process.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

I am rejecting this response because:

This response is rude and just further proves the point that this business is an embarrassment to good business owners who are honest and communicate respectfully with their customers.

      Sincerely,
