      JD’s Handyman Service was supposed to build a bench and shelves in my house. He cancelled our first appointment last minute. Next appointment was 4/17/23, he was supposed to arrive at 9:30. He arrived around 1:00. I gave him a picture of exactly what I wanted and explained everything to him. On 4/20/23 I sent him $350 deposit. He was supposed to start 4/26/23 at 9:30. At 8:45 he said he wasn’t coming. Rescheduled for 4/29/23 at 9:30. He showed up around 1:00 and had all the wrong materials. He left to get the correct stuff and was gone for about 2 1/2 hours. He returned the materials he had but didn’t get anything else. He told me to buy the shelves because it was more expensive than he thought. He said he’d need more money. I didn’t give him any. I bought shelve and I stained them (so unfortunately I can’t return them). He was supposed to come back first thing in the morning, I texted him at 10:00 and he said he wouldn’t arrive until around 11:30. I told him he needs to be here by noon or maybe we should cancel. He agreed and said we should cancel. I told him I wanted my money back. He said he would not refund my money. He said he didn’t have to because I accepted his offer. I have asked him multiple times for a refund and he said no. I believe he is a scammer. He took my money, tried to get more and did nothing in return. I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.

      She is completely in the wrong I did exactly what I told her I would except for the shelving. I bought the materials with the deposit she gave and when I got there to discuss building her unit she completely changed from white board which is in original estimate to a natural wood. It did cost about 200 more for those materials. I told her to go ahead and pick out and get her shelving so I didn't get the wrong stuff again. She was very hard to deal with and I did everything I could to make her happy. When she said she wanted to cancel I never agreed I said " I think we just might have to do that" I offered to drop materials and ***** store credit cards from refund of materials she changed I got them on cards because can take up to 5 days to return to my debit card. She refused them and wanted money unfortunately I spent the money on exactly what it was for. When she pushed issue I told her I would refund money minus the 2 1/2 hrs I spent at her home and ***** for her job. I offered to give her 144 dollars. My hourly rate is 75 hr and she refused.  I have a signed approved contract from her that she is imbreech of contract when she canceled. I have all GPS records for my vehicle and all the documents she approved thru House Call Pro. I told her to have her attorney contact me and he never did and she started to harass me texting.  She has filed a small claim and I'm honestly looking forward to it I have all documents showing she is wrong. In 2 1/2 years I have never had a issue. I have a 4star rating on ****** and many clients that will back me up

      I am rejecting this response because:
      I did not change one thing and gave him a picture of what I wanted. Unfortunately he thought he could buy cheap material and get away with it. There is no signed contract. He sent me an estimate, no contract. There is nothing saying the deposit is not refundable. I have tried to be fair however he is being difficult. Now he will have to pay a lot more in small claims court, which I tried to avoid. His gps tracking means nothing. I’m not going to pay someone for driving around or to and from my house, especially because of mistakes he made. As for harassment, he has texted me multiple times and even had his wife call me, which is definitely harassment on his part.

He sent me an estimate, no contract. There is nothing saying the deposit is not refundable. I have tried to be fair however he is being difficult. Now he will have to pay a lot more in small claims court, which I tried to avoid. His gps tracking means nothing. I’m not going to pay someone for driving around or to and from my house, especially because of mistakes he made.
