I was a resident of this complex for roughly 2 years. Around April 2023 we discovered alot of our belongings had mold and we had to dispose of everything. We contacted the office with no resolutions we kept emailing the manager **** and he refused to talk or email us back. We ended up getting a mold inspector with our own money since they refused to get it inspected for us. The inspector informed us that we had 2 types of mold one being Aspergillius in the air and said that we needed to vacate the apartment. The office still denied having mold and had someone from corporate come into out home without warning to clean up things that we took pictures of. Citra told us they would be transferring to a new unit, but after a week informed us that we needed to move out ASAP and charged us ***** dollars for damages that they didnt give us the reciept for and sent us to collections when asking for a detailed receipt when there were no damages. They have done with this to previous residents and even allowed someone to move in to the same apartment without notifying them of mold.

Re: Apt ****** ****** ***** **** *** **** *********** ** ******  My wife and I received a certified letter/invoice from Citra Apartments on 30May2023. We moved out on 14May2023, after 6 years of living in the same apartment at ****** All rents have been paid on time and we were awaiting the return of our $250 Security Deposit -- instead we were informed that not only are they keeping our Security Deposit, but also billing us an additional $1,703.48. There was no damage to the apartment, simply the usual wear and tear of living in the same apartment over a 6 year period. Citra Apartments of Windermere / *** ********** / *** ***** ****** is attempting to extort an additional month's rent from us after all rents have been paid. The list of charges they are attempting to impose upon us are regular expenses incurred by landlords. The carpet is 9 years old and is overdue to be replaced - they want us to pay for their ongoing upkeep. They are charging us for cleaning the apartment, when part of the process of flipping an apartment is cleaning it before the next tenant moves in - they are attempting to pass this charge upon us as well. They are charging us for patching nail holes and repainting - these too are regular expenses incurred by a landlord while preparing an apartment for a new tenant. The only legitimate charge is the $142.48 Final UBI charge, which after they clarified this for us, is to pay Utilities in arrears. The mysterious $10 Utility Billing charge, and the $1 Storage fee on the other hand, are bogus charges. We have made several attempts via email to clarify the charges and remove the bogus charges, but both Gary D**** and Gabrielle R*** have been unwilling to work with us to resolve this issue. We are seeking a quick resolution to this conflict, receive a check for $107.52 ($250 - $142.48 (Security Deposit - Final UBI)); and confirmation from Citra Apartments that no other money is due and no issues to affect our rental history.

On April 18, at the request of Ms. Julissa M*******, we made an online application to rent an apartment with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, in the aforementioned company, they asked us to pay some expenses that total approximately $591, they ran us the credit and finally we were approved, we proceeded to sign the contract, which has 35 pages and everything is fine, moving date is July 19, 2022, the next day I receive a call from Ms. Julissa, where she tells me that due to a system error the apt is available is now (04/18/2022) and not for 07/19/2022, we told him that that was not what they told us, he apologized and told us that the company recognized his mistake and that as a courtesy they would return the expenses that were generated ($591). I have called 18 times and nothing indicates the status of our money, today 02/06 we went to Windermere, Florida ***** and requested information about our money, the first thing was that they had no information on the case, facilitate the proofs of the operation, they called their main office and then they told us that they would not return money, since the application fees are non-refundable, we asked to speak with the person in charge and we explained the situation, we even showed him the contract signed and Mr. Gary D***** said it is not refundable and already, we insist on clarifying the situation since they offered in a deceitful and premeditated way, just after paying, property not available for the offered date, Mr. insulted us and expressed that if not We spoke English, with him we did not have the right to speak, it was also difficult to get his name and it should be noted that this property is famous according to previous reviews for blaming the system and keeping the money of the applicants without justified reason, additionally I asked them to correct the query to my credit and they said NO and No, and even my son witnessed the despotic and rude way in which this person treated my wife in the offices of the complex.
