I recently visited Winter Garden Animal Hospital to refill my dog's thyroid medication, an experience I've had several times. This time, however, I was surprised to find the price had increased by over 130%, from around $30 to $70. When I inquired about this significant price hike, the receptionist mentioned a price increase in January but could not justify the significant difference compared to prices at other pet pharmacies. Additionally, despite checking my email thoroughly, I received no receipt for this transaction, nor any prior notification or explanation of the price adjustment. This absence of documentation added to my concerns. My attempts to discuss these matters with the management were futile, as I was unable to speak with anyone despite trying on two separate occasions. It is not just the unexpected cost that has prompted my decision to seek services elsewhere, but more so the handling of the situation. The lack of communication, transparency, and apparent indifference to addressing my concerns has left me deeply disappointed. This experience has reinforced the importance of not only affordable care but also the value of respect, support, and open dialogue between a vet's office and pet owners.Given the lack of detailed communication and the failure to provide a receipt or satisfactory explanation, I've made the difficult decision to seek veterinary services elsewhere. My choice is driven by principle, emphasizing the need for a vet practice to offer clear communication and genuine concern for its patients and their owners. I hope this feedback serves as constructive criticism, highlighting the critical role transparency and effective communication play in establishing a trustworthy vet-patient relationship.

We are incredibly disappointed and appalled by the level of service, lack of care and empathy we have received from this practice. Our poor dog started with and eye issue that after several wrong guesses and prescriptions we were refered to an eye specialist. The specialist was able to pin point the issue and surgery was recommended. We opted to come back to WGAH to perform it because we trusted them. Looking back what a MISTAKE. Our dog was cleared for a double surgery. Eye removal and kidney stones removal. We asked if they believed he was healthy enough to endure this due to his age. They assured us he was. After surgery he could not stop panting, he was not eating and barely drinking. When we voiced our concerns, we were dismissed with we are puzzled it could be his age, pain or anxiety. They pumped him with medications that I mentioned was making the panting worse. They dismissed it and one of techs even said he was breathing heavy during surgery as well. They kept him for observation mind you all this within a week. They did NOTHING. My husband went in to speak to them to see what could be done. Bringing him in for a drop off apt on Monday was suggested. We took it upon ourselves to take him to the emergency vet that evening on a Friday in order to obtain a second opinion. Our poor dog could not get comfortable from all that panting. It took the emergency vet one look at him in order to realize it was either a heart or lung issue not pain related or anxiety. This was confirmed after being on oxygen cage and taking an X-rays. It turns out our sweet boy was suffering from heart failure. His traquea was pushed up by the swollen heart and fluid buildup. The outcome of our dog may have been the same in the end (euthanasia) however if his panting had been diagnosed sooner as heart failure he would have suffered less. We called Monday and requested a copy of all our dogs medical records. We received another dogs X-rays. Their excuse HYPPA does not apply for pets.
