I arrived at Elkins Repair Services for a estimate on my 2010 Nissan Versa for $2,100 to replace catalytic converter/converter, cv boot I provided, reprogramming,3 fuses & splice a couple wires. I was able to bargain with the owner Richard Elkins and got it for $1,800 so when I arrived I was told car was running fine and was ready to go so it wasn't running fine and still had the service engine soon light was on with the code misfire in cylinder 2 plus the fuse box under the hood was left open and his mechanic tried keeping my old converter. I KNOW IT'S A BUSINESS BUT THAT DOESN'T TRANSLATE TO SCAM /RIPOFF Working People because after the absurd repair bill the engine light should not have been on stillBusiness response

The customer called and said it wont start . brought it in and then they said that some one pulled transmission out and it started one time . we had to find the problem and repair wirring . exhaust sytem was cut up and destroid . replaced the manifold and convertor . he told me he has been working on it for a few weeks . and said he gave up and called me . we spent a day doing test on wires and sensors . had a short and kept blowing fuses . customer has never contacted me about them having any thing wrong after the repair . i dont under stand why they are contacting you when i was never giving a call or a chance to even know something was wrong . i have a good name i dont take advantage of people . customer is mad that they couldnt fix it them selfs . i would be glad to have the chance to fix it if it is something we repaired to resolve this complaint .Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
The business told me the car was running fine and that they test drove it so if they did they would have known engine light was on cause it was on before i drove off his property so I think the mechanic never tested car and charging me $1000 for a $120 part plus labor should be illegal. I had to put car in another shop and spend another $900 to get car running so I want aleast partially refunded if not fully refunded for inconvenience and price gouging

CAR WAS TEST DROVE . WE TOLD YOU YOU YOU NEEDED MORE WORK AND YOU SAID I WILL GET IT DONE . YOU HAVE NOT ONCE TOLD ME ANYTHING WAS WRONG AND YOU DROVE OFF . WHEN YOU PICKED IT UP IF THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG YOU SHOULD OF BROUGHT THE CAR BACK . THATS WHAT ANY OTHER PERSON WOULD OF DONE .
