9-25-2021 Stopped to get gas before heading back to NC. There was a cut/hole in the gas hose which allowed gas to be sprayed all over my husband and our vehicle. The store worker put out an orange cone by the pump and gave me a bucket to pour water over the vehicle. My husband went into the bathroom to clean up and change clothes. We drove all the way back to NC smelling gas and were unhappy about the items damaged by the gas. My husband spoke to a representative on the phone and told him the story. We were put in contact with Crystal J. H*******, claims adjuster who on 10-05.2021, ask us to send a complete list of damaged items and an estimate on detailing the vehicle. We sent the above information and photos to her. 11-28-2021 Angie M*****, claims adjuster contacted us to ask if the "wetness" on the ground was from$2.00 worth of gas or from the buckets of water used to rinse the vehicle. Said she was reviewing the file and video. I explained that it was a combination of both as we were trying to minimize damage to the paint on the vehicle as soon as we could. 12-09-2021 Angie replied that they deny all liability but apologize and hope the incident does not deter future patronage. We simply cannot believe this. We believe that they are liable as it was faulty equipment that caused this incident. There was nothing saying not to use the pump, no cones, no notes. The store worker simply put a cone out after she came out and saw what happened and offered me the use of a bucket and water. We have photos of the damaged hose. Not only are we out clothing, shoes, etc. We had to detail the vehicle. We worry about our health having carcinogenic fuel sprayed on the skin. We worry about having to breathe in the fumes/smell for 10 hours to get back home. We are hurt that Circle K does not care about this incident and only wants us to continue to shop with them.
