********************************* was hired on (date) to act as a general contractor for a basement finishing project. Initially, the project was on track and without any incidents. Then within a short period of time we began to notice errors being made and work being completed not according to plans. Here is a list of the errors 1. A master closet was made smaller than specified dimensions.2. Shower stall was made smaller than specified dimensions.3. Kitchen pantry made smaller.4. Plumbing exposed in an area that it should not.5. Kitchen window installed on its side when the window clearly states which side should be up.6. Window location will not be centered with the kitchen sink 7. No room for a dishwasher based on the location of the sink 8. The location of the **** unit is incorrect. Some of the mistakes he was forced to correct which in turn caused a delay in the project. In addition, his team would not be present when the inspectors would show up causing the inspectors to not be able to inspect the property or work on several occasions. The crew were all non-English speaking which caused major communication issues. It is not even certain if these workers were documented as we were not able to get a definitive answer from the contractor. The ** refused to correct some of the mistakes such as the location of the window and room for the dishwasher. The electrician that he had sent was the individual that pointed out these mistakes to us. He also in his dealings with us, asked about where we would like to install lights in the basement. Where ever the electrician recommended that we install lights we agreed under the impression that this is what was covered in the contract. The ** made changes to the plans without the owners consent and then tried double dipping with the bank and the home owner. This ** has an ex employee by the name of Saif Almoner who reached out to the homeowners and stated that he had defrauded other people as well.Customer response

Complainant has failed to pay mechanical liens attached to this document and we are currently exploring legal action against them. All rough inspections were completed at the time of termination, and termination was served within expected project completion time, showing that any complaints about piping issues or incorrect placement of objects is incorrect. The complainant also did not return tools and materials after termination of the contract and submitted to us a notice to vacate the property. The timing for termination is rather suspect as all rough work had been completed and passed inspection, at which time additional funds were to be supplied for completion of the project as per contract stipulation. The invoice for work completed can also be found in the Lien Order. The complainant refused to pay for change orders already supplied and refused to pay for material in stock already delivered. The complainant states shoddy workmanship, but evidence from the ****contracted architect shows that work was being done with excellent quality and cleanliness, as attached. The complainant violated contract stipulations by asking subcontractors to complete additional work and refusing to pay for additional work although extra costs were directly and explicitly stated in the contract they signed. The complainant also mentions a disgruntled former employee and alleges fraud without proof. We are also exploring additional litigation with the disgruntled former employee for defamation and slander. We have attempted to mediate with the complainant before moving to legal action, but the complainant refused. We unfortunately are moving towards arbitration with the complainant, and as such, negative comments they have made should not be public until after arbitration proceedings. Our lawyer, ******************************* of RLK Law can be contacted at **********************.
