Innovative Woodworks has been difficult to deal with since I hired them in 2018 to build a screened porch.
The difficulties include shoddy workmanship and unresponsiveness. This review addresses issues that have arisen since June 22, 2021. I have corresponded with the owner via both email and text and am unable to obtain a resolution to the current issues My warranty covers workmanship until 3/10/22 and structural issues until 3/10/25. My concern is that the owner will ignore my requests until the warranty expires, and then claim that he is not responsible for resolving them.
6/22/21: I emailed Dominique McGrath re: mold and cracks on the ceiling as well as two water stains.
6/28/21: I followed up with a text.
7/7/21: I tried to call him but his voice mail was full.
7/9/21: I sent another text. Dominique finally replied and asked me to send him photos of the water stains, which I did.
7/18/21: No reply received, so I checked my last text & found out that the photos did not go through, so I resent them.
8/10/21: I texted him again. He replied that it is common to have a "little bit of mold, but if it was a roof leak then it would be a lot worse than that." He said the water stain was not a roof leak. He did not mention the crack on the ceiling.
9/13/21: I texted Dominique again. I told him that I had a plumber confirm that the stains on the ceiling were water stains, I asked him where else the water would be getting in if not from the roof. I also asked him again about the ceiling crack since he never replied from my 6/22/21 email.
I told him that there was mold on the majority of the ceiling (by his own comment on 8/10/21, this indicates a roof leak.) I mentioned that I have had screened porches in all my residences prior to this and have never had an issue of mold on the ceiling.
9/27/21, 10/6/21, 10/11/21: I followed up with a text, no reply as of 10/19/21.
