      So far our interaction with Direct Boats has been excellent. We wanted to visit their showroom in Americus, Georgia to see a boat and talk with a salesman. We made arrangements to meet on a Monday morning. Our meeting was with Matt who took an hour- hour and half with us answering questions and working up a couple of quotes. John then took over the actual placing of the order and that was done today. Direct Boats has been excellent to deal with. We’re very excited to receive our boat!

      While on the Internet I stumbled onto directboats.com. I couldn’t believe it I loved what I saw. But who buys something site unseen . Granted I’m old-school but I like to kick the tires. So I took a trip from Central Florida to Georgia to see what all the hoo-Ha was about. What happened next was extraordinary. At first The employees were surprised and they told me they don’t have a lot of people visiting because they’re an online store. I was immediately treated like a king the owner himself, Roger, showed me the products treated me like Family and gave me a tour of the factory. The business reeked of professionalism. One of the craftsman pointed to a bucket of fiberglass resin and said they is your boat. The boat was built to my specifications and if you could believe it not only was it a piece of art but it was hand-delivered by the owner of the company Roger and his wife to my house. I just had a maiden voyage and the boat exceeded my expectations every single way. Do not think too hard about the horsepower, This boat flies. I’m 66 years old and I got a Telya this boat it’s so easy to maneuver, launch and maintain that it is a pleasure. I have many lakes in my area and the St. Johns River. Roger and his family has given me a remarkable product to pursue my new chapter of life. I feel like the old man in the movie Up. Knowing the quality of the product, The amazing people that manufacture and stand behind there work I fully believe in and most highly recommend this company. I so believe in this beautiful boat that I invite anyone in my area who would like to take a look, and kick the tires to send me a text and we will meet up. It would give me pleasure if other people would get to know the Directboats.com Family add enjoy there new adventures and New chapter of life. I am not in anyway affiliated with the company.       Terrible experience. It's important to know that this company doesn't have anything to do with the actual manufacturing of boats; they are third party. My order came over 6 months later than their "guaranteed" delivery date, which was 4 months after I placed the order (10 months total). They never take responsibility for any of their promises, and once they have your money they ignore any questions or actual concerns you have--there's not much they can tell you anyway, since they aren't involved with making the boats, just selling them. When my boats were finally on the way, they didn't schedule the delivery with me like they promised, and they didn't tell the trucking company that I had requested help unloading the truck (which they said would be no problem). So I had an angry driver and an angry logistics company calling me in addition to dealing with my own frustrations about having to drop everything and go accept an unscheduled delivery that should have been here half a year ago. I will never work with Direct Boats again.

      We are an authorized retailer for a good variety of boats that we sell and others we design and contract the building process. Sorry that we had to deal with a raw material crisis in the middle of building the *******'s boats. The customer had a chance to get their order refunded when explained the building delay but they understood at the time and realized these boats are rare and would be delayed anywhere they chose to go. We have in the emails about deliveries and that only residential customers are called ahead and the freight trucks normally deliver within the company hours of operation. In order to make a delivery driver wait two hours on the customer they would need a dedicated truck and added costs. It's very unfair to make one driver offload six large boats without any help. We make it clear the customers will need to be apart of the delivery process to inspect the delivery of their products. ******* ******* sent an email of him being on vacation and when not to deliver the boats so we worked the schedule around the customer. We regret the process did not meet their expectation but do value them as very great customers. Again there are so many shortages across the country for raw materials and ask that our customers try and have patience as the resin comes in from different countries. We aim to please every customer but understand there are some issues that can arise.

      As you see above, this company blames anyone it can when something goes wrong. I have worked with many other companies throughout the pandemic who are able to stay in communication and set realistic expectations, even with product shortages and delays. My problem is not in the delay alone, it is in the poor communication. Saying in this review that only residential customers are called ahead is complete nonsense. We are a seasonal business, and do not have staff or business hours in November, which we communicated to direct boats was a main concern with the substantial delay in shipping. This is why we asked multiple times if the driver would be able to schedule delivery and help us with unloading the boats, both of which you said were possible, but the driver knew nothing about. Saying now in a public review that "It's very unfair to make one driver offload six large boats without any help" is simply trying to make us look bad--the drivers were very nice and we worked everything out, just without any help, support, or communication from direct boats. If this were scheduled like we asked for it to be, we would have been there waiting with people to help, but getting a call from the driver at 7:45am on a Tuesday in November left us no time to make this a smooth delivery. I like to work with American companies, and wish I didn't feel it necessary to leave this review, but direct boats really needs to get their act together.

      Again we are sorry for the events that occurred and pass the blame onto no one but only stating events along the way. During the process we gave ******* ******* the gentlemen that purchased the boats a choice of colors that were not in short supply to move faster. He chose to wait for specific colors that needed more time to receive the resin color. We were given an open window of when to ship the boats and when not to so we acted in that timing. We are fighting a review and the account still has an open balance that you will not answer the calls to settle so we have to address them publicly sorry. The current times have stretched all businesses in areas that we have no control over but we are far from perfect and strive to reach and make our customers happy with their purchases.
