I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate incident that occurred at a local restaurant that has left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. On March 10, 2023, I visited The Last Resort Grill with a gift card that I had purchased for my daughter. The gift card did not have an expiration date printed on it, and I assumed that I could use it at any time.However, when I tried to use the gift card at the restaurant, I was told by the manager that they were no longer accepting gift cards. The manager told me that they had changed their policy and did not provide further details. I was shocked and upset by this news, as I had spent my hard-earned money on the gift card and had planned on using it before my daughter graduated from ************************* and moved away from Athens. I asked the manager if there was anything that could be done, but they refused to honor the gift card or provide a refund. I was also not allowed to have the gift card back to use as evidence that it was a valid card purchased directly from the restaurant and had no expiration date.I believe that the restaurant's refusal to honor my gift card is a violation of their obligations as a business to provide fair and reasonable service to their customers. I was not notified of any changes to their policy regarding gift cards when I purchased it, and the gift card did not have an expiration date, leading me to believe that I could use it at any time.I respectfully request that you investigate this matter and take appropriate action against the restaurant. I also urge you to take steps to protect consumers from similar situations in the future, by ensuring that businesses are transparent about their policies regarding gift cards and other forms of payment.Thank you for your attention to this matter.
