In mid august we moved our entire house into there storage unit because we lost our daughter on august 7th and my wife couldnt/ didnt want to back to our home. About two weeks after moving into the unit we noticed mold growing on some of our stuff. We made a complaint and nothing was said except for sorry. We went back maybe a week later and most of everything was covered from top to bottom side to side in mold, we lost everything we owned! We called again, and all they said was sorry here is the number for the insurance claim. While there the second time we noticed the mold was caused from the roof leaking. When we notifed them and asked if they could replace our belongings we were told that they wouldnt give us anymoney or anything that they were not responsible for the damages. We also havent heard anything back from the insurance company. And the storage unit is still calling us everyday asking for money, because all though we moved out and gave notice they are still billing us *** giving us late fees, its been 3 months since we moved out. Also just a side note all of our stuff was covered in plastic and we had mostiure control to prevent anything like this and it still happend. Its just ridiculous that they think they arent responsible and dont have to pay to have anything replaced.Business response

Condolences on your loss, we know it must be hard. We also apologize for the mold that ended up on your items. We did provide a free month and offered half a month free We always turn our tenants to the insurance claims for ******************* Program, at *************, because they are who handle tenants damaged property. If a tenant has homeowners or renters insurance, we would also direct them there. We wish we could make the insurance company reach back out to you. However, they are a separate entity from us. If there is anything we can do to speed the process up with them, we are more than happy to do so, just let us know.
When you first moved out, we were unable to process it as a move out because items belonging to you were still in the unit. We did reach out by email to let you know this issue. We do not sell or get rid of any items right away because they still belong to the tenant until they are released to the property. We now have an approved release of the items. We will be closing the account. There should be no further collection attempts from us. Thank you for your time.
