I was contacted by this organization late last Nov. to assist with my electric bill. I don't know how the company obtained my personal number but again they reached out to me on several occasions via emails and phone calls to inform me funds were available for GA ***** customers to receive assistance with the electric bill regardless of income and zipcode. I initially thought it was a SCAM and decided to contact GA ***** company to confirm if this was a legit program since they (Georgia Department of Community Affairs) referenced GA ***** as the company they were working with to assist their customers. I was advised from a GA ***** rep that the program was indeed legal and I should apply. I decided to apply and that was over 5 months ago. I was asked to upload my personal information ie; power bill, ID, lease and SSC and other documents. Each time I try to contact this organization to check the status of the application, I'm on the phone holding for over an hour. I am NEVER able to speak with anyone and I don't have time for that. No one can assist me at GA ***** either. I'm provided the same number to contact and that's not enough. I just want to know what was the status or outcome regarding my application. I feel like I've been scammed or my information was used to provide to whomever the funds are coming from to say, hey we've helped this household but monies are being withheld because it was not applied to my bill. Again, this company reached out to me! Unprofessional and scammer like tendencies!
