I dont reside in the state of Georgia and did not think about filing a complaint until someone today suggested that I do so, Additionally, Ive had some health issues ( thyroid surgery and chemotherapy) since this appointment and those issues had to take priority.I visited Razorchic Salon in either April or May of 2019. She was an hour appointment late due to a doctors appointment. The service that I scheduled to receive consisted of a relaxer and color. Her assistant washed and blow dried my hair prior to relaxing it, which is abnormal in the hair industry. When I asked her assistant about this she stated that it was to remove build up. The owner, *******, finally arrived and relaxed my hair. Of course, the relaxer burned upon applying. After relaxing my hair, she started the color lifting process since I wanted to go blonde. I was there all day, but I didnt complain as this is expected when a color process is involved. The color process burned as well. After many hours, we cut my hair and I left. It is not standard process to relax hair and then bleach it in the same appointment as this can cause hair loss and it did. About a month later, I had to cut all of the blonde out of my hair as my hair was falling out. Razor chic salon advertises as a luxury salon experienced with hair loss when in fact they actually cause hair loss. My service was over $800 as I had two deposits on file.Business response

This client just stated that she received chemotherapy and had a thyroid procedure done and those two procedures are the number two reasons hair falls out. I may have been running behind due to this Atlanta traffic coming from a doctors appointment. In the event Im wrong on my behalf a discount of some sort is always added to adjust the customers bill. As far as me shampooing hair before I start. Clients come to the salon with filthy hair expecting me to put my hands and tools in dirty hair is crazy. I dont know what was used on the hair prior to me touching it so I like to start with a clean canvas. My technique has changed the game for stylist all across the world. My prep shampoo is used with clarifying shampoo removing any buildup, dirt, grease and whatever else is on the hair. Its done by using only your fingertips not scratching the scalp at all! Then I blow dry and place them under a cool dryer for like 20 mins to allow their pores to close before I start. And because I specialize in short hair its always best to cut first then relax the ************* it in the direction which you want it to lay. This technique I have taught thousands of stylist how to do is why the have given me the title of changing the game for stylist. If her hair was gonna come out it will come out instantly the same day of applying relaxer and color. Because we are no longer in the ****s products have advanced and allowed us to do both services in one day. My secret product on what I use stylist have to pay me for that knowledge. This client will not be getting a refund because she loved her hair the day she got it done and there was no complaints. She also signed my consent form which I make everyone sign before I touch them because of cases like this. Its states about all this and also to notify me if you do not like your hair prior to leaving so it can be adjusted because once you leave thats it! Ive attached a copy of what she signed before service. Its no different than going to the doctor signing consent forms before any procedures are done. The end!Customer response

My thyroid surgery took place in 2021 and my chemotherapy took place most of 2022. These conditions were not related to my hair loss. After I cut the blonde out my hair was able to grow back.
Theres a common pattern in the reviews and complaints against this business in regard to ***** on the scalp and hair loss. If I was the only one that experienced this I wouldnt bother filing this claim, but there are many others. I will contact them if I need to.
Lastly, I thought it would be important to contact other professional stylists on the same level as this business ,to get their opinion. It is not common practice to:
1) wash a clients scalp prior to relaxing, this can cause ***** due to the sodium hydroxide
2) relaxing and bleaching the hair of a first time client is rare in the hair industry. A professional stylist will either require a consultation prior to the hair appointment or advise that you see them regularly before processing the hair.
3) A discount was not offered. Trust me. I had two deposits on file and still paid over $800.
I will be filing a complaint with the cosmetology board as well.
4) If the business has a no refund policy due to claims like this one then the business should review their practices. All of us do not have time to file bogus claims.

Goal was to receive a hair makeover. As I become older, my hair has begun to thin. Had been following Razor Chic of Atlanta for several years and loved the hair success stories/pictures captured on her website. Traveled from ***** for this experience. ****************** informs me that the services, I have requested online were inadequate. I would require additional services for hydration, color lifter and additional color incurring additional charges. Im reporting the NEGLIGENCE of this licensed beautician, that caused all of my hair to fall out due to the overprocessing of my hair by utilizing a straightener and color that overrode the ** balance.Burning sensation begins and becomes extensive. I glance at the timer set for my perm. I realize that I still have 15 minutes remaining. I informed ****************** my hair was burning extensively. She came and applied a solution that turns the burning sensation of my hair edges purple but didnt ease the burning sensation. I inform ****************** again I couldnt take the burning. The timer still had 14 minutes remaining and I know, I couldnt make it any longer with how severely my hair was burning. My scalp, face and ears are burning to the point of explosion. After the timer rang, I still remained in the chair for a few additional minutes with the straightener. She finally calls me to the shampoo bowl. The water was excruciating on my scalp, face and behind my ear. I couldnt sit still for the rinse I was drenched from rising up out of the chair due to the pain. The normal routine on ********* ****************** always displays the before and after photos of her work. My photo didnt make her FB success story due to severe *****. Follow-up doctor for additional burn care. Due to the low self- esteem, confidence and insomnia & mental anguish resulting from the drastic & painful hair loss at the hands of Razor Chic, *****************************. Schedule a mental health counselor to assist me with the coping.Initial Complaint

I went for hair services in ****** on 11/16/21. I received a relaxer and permanent color. During the services, I informed both Razor Chic and another stylist there that I was experiencing itching/burning both after the application of the relaxer and during the application of the color. I was told it was normal. When I went home, my scalp was still tingling/itching. Within 2 days following my services, I lost 50% of my hair and my scalp was inflammed and sore. I went to the emergency room and was told it was from chemical *****. Evidently, product had been left in my hair. I immediately contacted Razor Chic's assistant because I didn't have contact info for her. I was desperate and needed to speak with Razor Chic to see if I could do something to save the rest of my hair. Unfortunately, as the day progressed, there was no help for my hair. I lost 95% of it. I've left both email and voicemail messages but haven't gotten a response. Yesterday, I sent an email requesting a full refund to avoid legal proceedings. After reading negative reviews, I'm sure I won't receive a call or response from anyone. I'm currently in the process of obtaining legal representation for a pending civil suit and have been advised not to provide detailed information online or social media. I would, however, like to speak with someone from BBB and lodge a formal complaint. Also, this hair service comes with a hefty price tag which is probably equivalent to a month's salary for a lot of women. I think that it's imperative that I try and forewarn others and maybe prevent someone from unnecessary pain, suffering and dispair.Customer response
