The below is a response to your recent complaint on the BBB.  We take your complaint seriously and want to be sure we explain the process clearly below.

      What Does Well Played Do?
Well Played is a market research firm that gets hired by clients (video game developers and distributors) to get feedback from everyday users on in-progress projects. Users come in, get briefed on what we're trying to accomplish, have a gameplay session or are shown stimulus and then discuss their feedback with us. Following this, they specify how they want to get paid and we pay you within ***** hours. These sessions usually pay $150, and most studies tend to be a one-and-done, but we do have some long term studies that span multiple sessions over a few weeks. We also occasionally do studies where participants fill out a short survey and are entered into a drawing for a single big prize. To ensure that participants fit the research we send out screeners to participants who have opted in to our panel to fill out and see if they qualify for paid research sessions. You can learn more about Well Played from our About Us video on our website.

We do not every sell participant data, nor do we mislead participants about what their data is for.  We use it to qualify them for groups and that is all.

How do we make it clear when participants get paid?
When participants are sent a screener to apply to qualify for paid research studies, each screener tells them this is the first step to apply for a study you will get paid for if you qualify. Each screener will say something along the lines of We have multiple $150 online research opportunities at the end of May/beginning of June.  Fill out the survey and see if you're a fit for one of them! What are Well Playeds Privacy Practices:

Well Played has a privacy policy that each member of the panel must accept when they opt in. You can read the Privacy Policy here. We take mitigating factors with each study regarding PII and only capture the minimal amount of information as possible to do our research.********************************* Complaint:

      Response To ************************
Mr. *********** complaint comes after they applied for a research session but did not qualify. His complaint claims that Well Played promises payment upon completing surveys as well as claiming that Well Played steal[s] peoples data which is untrue. If ************************ were to qualify and attend a Well Played research session, they would be paid for their time, but we do not pay participants for completing screeners.  We understand their is frustration regarding not getting selected for surveys, but the complaint accusses us of something we simply don't do.  We'd request kindly that ************************ either provide evidence that we are using his data inapproporiately or that we are unclear about the promise payment for completion of screeners.  Either that  or withdraw the complaint.
