Hiring Chaps Professional Movers may be the worst decision Ive ever made. Truly. We just didnt do enough research and put too much emphasis on cost savings. Im writing this review in an effort to help prevent other families from dealing with the ** weve dealt with over the last couple of months..On their website, they claim to be the best moving company in *******. They guarantee 100% customer satisfaction. They ensure fast and reliable service. They claim to be on call 24/7 and they promise to follow strict protocols, including showing up 10 minutes before the given appointment time. lol We had a much different experience. If you were given a day to think about and write down all possible mistakes a moving company could make, I doubt youd be able to come up with the extensive list of blunders committed by Chaps: Showed up 30+ mins late, brought a Uhaul truck (yes, they rent Uhauls and do not own their own trucks) that was too small for the job which resulted in having to make multiple trips, members of the crew would disappear throughout the job (we reserved 4 movers and ended up with only 2 for the majority of the day), they wrecked the Uhaul into the gate at the storage unit and a police report had to be filed, they had to return the Uhaul and pick up a new one midway through the job I could go on and on. All of the delays caused by their tardiness, clumsiness, being short-staffed, being under-resourced, etc. led to the move taking 2 days and led to us having to find an additional storage unit across town. Chaps took zero responsibility for any of the mishaps and did not budge on their original quote. Half of my house was still in the Uhaul when they called it quits for the day and they refused to leave until I paid, so I had no choice. I challenged the total charges with the owner and he was unresponsive. Currently, the charge is being disputed with the credit card company. We hired another moving company (https://www.movingetc.net
