      I manage my elderly ****'s finances and upon paying her bills, I realized how costly her gas bills were with GNG. She has had long-term dimentia and did not realize she had to update her plan to continue with gas savings. Consequently, I decided to switch her to another competitor since they has a slightly better rate and that GNG made good profit from years of service. Consequently, my transfer failed several times and upon investigation I was told by competitor that there was some discrepancy with the acct info between ********************** and the main gas company, *********** light. Apparently, the name was incorrect on the acct and that ********************** explained it could not be changed for various reasons. For 3 months, I would call and get a different excuse to why the name change could not be done because we could only open another acct to make the correction. They would not allow us to transfer with just making a simple change. After getting the run around, I attempted to call *********** light multiple times to tell them what was happening. A few reps told me to call my provider directly to work this out because they do not work with customers directly. However, one rep was nice enough to investigate this and made the change. I am totally grateful to her. Otherwise, we would have been stuck with GNG again which enraged me after knowing that they were making excuses for preventing us from switching services. They made the error because only they could communicate with *********** Light and refused any attempt to correct it. I am saddened that they would go through such lengths for something so trivial. I am convinced that this was done purposefully as I spoke to supervisors who were feeding me info that was later debunked by *********** light. They told me that they could not correct the acct profile; however, I was able to call *********** light and get the issue corrected. This issue has being reported because this is unfair competition practices.

      We moved into this county in September. At our old home we were total electric. I had no experience with gas. I have a letter from Georgia natural gas. It shows that my projected bill for ******* would be ******. We are in our eighties and that would be real strain on our budget. I signed up for budget billing. Georgia natural gas did not switch me over for months. I paid the usage price through all the cold months. Then when it warmed up they went to the budget billing. My bill for ******* was not ****** it was only ******. So they lied to me to get me to sign up for budget billing. I have twice talked to them and asked to go back to monthly billing. They say no. I believe I should be able to go back because I was misled.

      I set paperless and auto payment. House been empty for couple years and autopay source credit card expired. I had not received any notification for 6 months and GNG finally sent email with 5 months charge and $120 late fee. I've talked to couple of operator and they wouldn't wave the late fee.Stay away with GNG

      I have been with GNG for over 30 years, I reached out to them over 4 weeks ago. They state I signed up for budget billing, which I said I did not. I called in 2/2023 and spoke to a CSR on the phone to helped me set up a "set" plan of $75.00/month and I specifically asked if there would be any owed charges at the end and was told no. They insist I selected BB with my online account, I told them if that was the case, I signed up for it unaware that I did. I have NEVER been on BB with them. When I contacted them about this my bill was $634.00 now it is almost $900. They are charging $2.09/therm which is outrageous. I have told them I am willing to pay for the gas I used but being a longtime dedicated customer of ********************** I would expect some kind of "meet in the middle" to help with my situation. I spoke with numerous supervisors before I got to the ***************** I spoke to supervisor (*******) there and then the manager (*************************************) who kept stating you signed up for budget billing and you owe the charges. I understand I used the gas and was willing to pay for it, but to pay at that rate of $2.09/therm is ridiculous. I asked if they couldn't they help with a credit to offset some of the charges and was told "no you the customer selected this plan and owe the money", which I still deny I selected this plan. I have always stood behind GNG and recommended them. I am not asking for my bill to be wiped clean, I know I owe some of this and am willing to pay. But to be told flat out no, we will not help you after being with them for so many years is very disappointing and upsetting. They offered me a $25.00 bill credit, like that even helps after you have my bill at $900. You would think a company of this size would care more about their customers and would be willing to help work with them concerning this situation. They kept tell me you can go on a payment plan or ask for assistance. Really, that is your only two options? VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

      I am requesting that you fully investigate Georgia Natural Gass (GNG) efforts to fraudulently inflate gas bills to increase revenue. I was told my ******* gas bill was result of a variable rate of ***** per therm. I have not been able to sleep for days, I feel like I have been sentenced for a crime that I havent committed. This is an outrage! It made me sick to set up a repayment plan knowing that GNG is trying to take advantage of me. I intentionally set the re-payment plan to start in April to provide me time needed to reach out for help. Further, out of frustration and disbelief, I have been talking with homeowners and doing my own investigation. This is the information that I have been able to unmask. Some homeowners received a disconnect notice a few days after falling past due, while others with large outstanding balances (myself included) did not received a disconnect notice after being 30 days past due; only to receive another bill for more than ******. It is apparent that GNG is quietly, and intentionally allowing over charged customers to be financially raped month after month without a disconnect notice thus alerting customers there is a problem.GNG is intentionally manipulating variable rate customers by overcharging outrageous per therm rates and then moving them into long term fix rate plans. After posting my situation on a social media site called Nextdoor, I found that certain customers are automatically being renewed on low fixed rate plans while other customers default to exorbitantly high variable rates per them rates. Some customers are given ****** credits toward their high balances while others are given ****** credit toward their bill. Georgia Natural Gas is not acting in good faith and there are enough customer complaints that necessitates a impactful response. I look forward to any assistance that you can provide.       My rate expired and this company throws me on a plan 5x more than I was paying. My bill was over $418 . Its a scam company. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE.

      They charged us a late morning fee after the auto pay didn't work. They also set us up with the highest rate. Speaking to a representative on the phone was not helpful, they did not explain that we were paying the highest rate.

      Got fast talked by the sales rep ********* BEWARE OF ********!! I wanted to just move my plan to my new house, but ******** changed me to a new plan completely that she did not tell us that we were getting a low rate for only 3 months. We were quite shocked when we opened up the bill to $614..,. It is the variable plan and now ******** moved to $2.09 per therm rate. Again, BEWARE OF THE **** REP *********

      They are scamming customers. They will no pro-rate their service plans so you end up paying a higher rate for the entire month even if only 1 day of the billing cycle has the old rate. Example: I changed my plan on 1/16/25. The billing cycle started on 1/11/24 and ended 2/12/24. They charged the entire 32 days at the old rate instead of prorating the 5 days under old plan, and 27 days under the new plan. So instead of an annual plan under a new rate, they are scamming you an entire month. Called to discuss and had terrible customer service. Will not renew with this company again.
