We put a $500.00 deposit down on a puppy that we met on Saturday, September 23, 2023. We didn't meet at their office, we met at ****************************************************************************. After visiting with the puppy we asked to see a copy of the contract before submitting our payment, but the owner's sister told us that we had to pay our deposit first. The owner, ************************* (aka *******), was not there to meet us. Her sister called her and we sent ********************* a ***** payment in the amount of $500.00 to reserve the puppy. The payment was sent around 12:30PM on 9/23/23 & it was sent to ************************ We headed back home to **********, ** since the puppy was too young to leave its ******* **** received an email with our contract around 9pm on 9/23/23. I didn't read the contract until Sunday, 9/24/23 and noticed when reading through the document that ******* raised the price of our puppy by $500.00. The puppy's original price was $5,500.00 and she increased it to $6,000. I immediately texted ********* & also spoke to her on the phone. She said the price was correct on the contract because her sister verbally confirmed prices with us, which she did not. She also told us that she had the puppy listed on her website for that amount. It wasn't until this conversation that I was aware that she had two different websites. One is *************************************************, which is where we found the puppy, & the other where she said it was listed for $6,000 was ************************************************. ******* refused to return our money. I called my bank, ***** Fargo, & reported her to Zelle. Our bank is trying to work to get our money back. We ended up not buying the puppy from *******, because we were afraid she would continue to increase the price, or withhold the dog even if we paid the full amount due for the puppy. I have text messages, bank documents, and screen shots of the website to verify our complaint. We can provide more information if needed.
