Me and my partner, *** ******** were applying for several apartments around town and never experienced something as confusing as Greystar and their property, Avana Overlook. We only applied and paid $250 for fees we assumed were for the application and admin fees. After being accepted for a unit I made sure to ask if there were any additional fees needed, such as a security deposit, and never received an answer. Given that we hadn't been to the apartment yet we decided to ask and see if we could come meet and tour in person. Our in-person experience was more than subpar, so we emailed the next day and declined the unit. Now, Greystar is sending us invoices in the mail asking for another $300 for what they call "holding of the unit". We never told them to hold any unit for us, and this was not an issue at the other two apartment complexes we declined. It feels like a scam, and I've attached screenshots of our emails to Avana. Our account # for their receivables is XXXXXXXX. Thank you.
