In early 2020, I received a gift card for Buckhead Life Restaurant Groups family of restaurants in *******, **. On April 21, 2020, I purchased a $175 Buckhead Life gift card for the purchase price of $152.50. On September 25, 2021, my wife and I dined at Buckhead Life restaurant ******. At that time, we attempted to use our gift cards for the purchase but were told a card registration error prevented us from doing so. We were then asked to supply an alternate payment method just in case, which we did. We were then told to follow up with ****** the next business day to provide proof of our gift card purchasewhich we did. Once we contacted ******* manager we were then directed to a Buckhead Life corporate IT manager who confirmed our gift card purchase and values, and who informed us they would be applied, and our dinner charge from ****** would be credited back to our Amex account. We have been told that on three separate occasions, and yet the credit has never occurred. We have now paid twice for the same meal, and the September 25th charge is a result of a fraud or error which ****** and Buckhead Life have acknowledgedto no avail.The September 25, 2021 ****** charge of $266.28 should be reversed. Not only did Buckhead Life make an initial error in its accounting and registration of the gift cards it sells, but it then put an unnecessary and inappropriate burden on me to prove proper ownership--which we accommodated. Then, they failed to reverse the credit charge and apply the gift cards (after forcing a month-long effort from us to get them to respond). This debacle has taken us 5 or so hours of extra effort to resolve--which is worth 5 times the price of that meal.
