In February 2021, I contracted with Premier Care Management of Georgia to downsize and move my mother's things from her home in *******, ** to **************. My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in February 2020 and in the year since that diagnosis and because of the pandemic, she moved to be closer to me.The senior care manager who did the downsizing and coordination of the move was helpful in many ways but she failed to ask me some specific questions before getting rid of things. So, when we unpacked her things, I was shocked to find many things, including all of her clothing, missing. When I contacted the company about this I initially got a response from the owner and then did not hear from her again. Twice the company was contacted by a lawyer on my behalf and still I got no response. At the very least, a reply would have been something but I had requested partial reimbursement and now that is all that I still want.Business response

The complaint was initially presented to me in a call. The client, *******************************, had asked us provide senior move management services to move her mothers household items. ***** had visited her mother a year earlier and found that she had lost over 50 pounds and was not able to care for herself. ***** brought her mother to live with her in ********. She made it very clear of what items she wanted sent to her home, donated or discarded. She said that we were to donate the clothes as she had gotten what she needed and had to purchase new clothes for her mother in a smaller size. This was told to ***************************, our senior move manager and her assistant.
Later, ***** called and was upset that ***** did not send the clothes. I called her back and she told me that she had told ***** to donate the clothes but that ***** should not have listened to her. As a dementia expert, she should have known to send the clothing anyway. I told her that this was not reasonable as we follow our clients wishes. I asked her again if we followed her directions and she agreed, again, that she told ***** to donate the clothing.
We then received a letter from her attorney about the clothing and a demand for *****. Our attorney responded with the facts and we did not hear anything further from ***** or her attorney.
She then wrote a one star review on ******* (see below)
Premier Care seemed good but their decision making and ultimate lack of communication was unbelievable. Please do not use this business, especially if you are out of the area and trying to move an elderly parent.
They did not respond to me, a lawyer or the Better Business Bureau when I tried to contact them to address my concerns.
Among other things, the worst decision was to get rid of ALL of my mother's clothing without specifically asking if this was what I wanted to do. When I asked why, I was told it was because I said that my mother had lost weight. That was true but throwing away every stitch of clothing owned by a person with Alzheimers is not helpful in any possible way. In addition, I got few documents for all that was "donated" and I have no way of truly knowing if items were sold for profit or not. When I spoke to the founder, *************************, she was defensive and showed little compassion. Although she said that she would call me back, she never did and never responded to the many attempts to reach the company and resolve the problem. We feel that she is attempting to hurt our business with this behavior. We did contact ****** to complain and see if they could remove the review and they asked if there is a law suit pending. Apparently, if there is one, they will remove it.
We are pursing legal action to stop this unreasonable behavior which seems to by motivated by her demands for thousands of dollars.
It is our hope that you would be able to see this situation as explained and remove anything that would be detrimental to our company as we are a compassionate group of nurses and staff that are trying to help seniors and their families. It is very sad that she has reacted this way. ***** and her assistant worked hard to fulfill Meryls wishes.
Please feel free to call me with any questions.
