      I am not liable for this debt with Georgia Cyber Academy. I do not have a contract with Georgia Cyber Academy. They did not provide me with the original contract as requested.

      After attempting to communicate with ************************* in December of 2020 regarding the return of a school provided loaner device, we received no response. Per school policy, the account was sent to collections in October 2021 in an attempt to recuperate the cost of the device. The collections company was also unable to reach with ************************* for a resolution.       Georgia cyber academy AKA GCA has scheduled with me to pick up a crashed computer unfortunately at the time my mom passed away I wrote them an email told them of the incident and that I was going to be gone for 2 weeks and we could pick it up when I come back in town I also called and spoke to a young lady and gave her the same information I received the email from GCA stating that I needed to have the computer back ASAP or pay $957? .. and that I have until March the 24th to do so at this time I am still out of town grieving sent them another email to let them know that I was out of town once again and that I would take care of it when I came back in town no one never answers the phone at GCA no one answers your email so I have been trying for weeks now to get in touch with them to tell them that the computer is here and that has been waiting for them to send a carrier over to pick it up mind you GCA keep trying to tell me that we have four computers when we really only have two then we're told that that incident had been straightened and not to worry about it so we are dealing with this issue here about the computer *********************** took it upon herself to ignore my emails ignore my calls and still place the computer in collections when the deadline was 3/24 or 3/21 of this month I finally got through just speak with the assistant principal today and I told her that I would like the school board to know if this issue as well as a person higher up no one ever follows up on complaints that you place on this school when this school was with K12 GCA it was more intact now it's like they don't care what happens to the students they don't think about the special education students this incident right here is unacceptable and like I just told her if she violated the statue of limitations of which is stated in this email and place that on my credit I will *** them being that it's not that I'm not cooperating it's that you can never get through

      Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA) strives to have positive and engaging communications with all our families, and we are disappointed to receive this complaint.   

      GCA provides one loaner student device at a time for each enrolled student.  Over the course of the past three years, four GCA loaner devices were provided to this student.  

      GCA pursued various avenues to obtain devices or receive reimbursement for devices that were reported by the legal guardian as damaged or lost.  The device, noted in the complaint, was reported by the legal guardian as having been discarded; however,the device remained visible within remote support software tools and confirmed to be actively in use on the students IP address.  After numerous unsuccessful requests to obtain the device or receive reimbursement for the device, the information was sent to collections.  The device has been returned to GCA via courier service has been removed from collections.
