Last month, I had two front tires on my 2020 ***** replaced with new tires at Midtown Tire. At the time, the mechanic told me that the car needed an alignment and offered to do it. I told him that I would take the car to ******** it is still relatively new and under warranty. Three days later, I took the car to *****. After their assessment, I learned that the car did not need an alignment. I was glad I had not agreed to let Midtown Tire perform an unnecessary service. But I also learned something disturbing: the new tires that Midtown installed to replace the front tires on my car were actually more worn than my original back tires, which Id been driving on for two years. In short, the tires Midtown Tire installed are used, not new. I'm seeking either a refund of the money I paid for brand-new tires or for Midtown to install tires that actually are new. On December 13, 2022, I contacted the manager of Midtown Tire to let him know that his company was selling used tires as new. He ignored my email. In light of the current violation of my trust, I'm not fully confident that Midtown Tire would replace the used tires with brand-new ones when given the opportunity to do so. Therefore, my preference would be a refund. That way, I could take the car to a reputable company to have the used tires that Midtown Tire installed replaced with new tires. I've attached supporting data from ***** showing that the tires Midtown tried to pass off as new are actually worn, used tires.

      Update 12/27/22

As of right now I have not been able to establish communication with *************

I have called twice and left messages and I emailed today.  Midtown Tire does not sell used tires so I am trying to set a time to personally inspect **************** vehicle to determine the nature of her concern.  We will take appropriate action once we have had a chance to speak with her and look at the vehicle/tires in question.

      Thank you,

      *********************, General Manager

I am rejecting this response because:  I have one phone message from **************, received on Monday, 12/26 and an email which he posted on 12/27. I responded to ****************** email on 12/27, two hours after it was posted. We set up a date to have ************** inspect the used tires, January 10, 2023. I'll have an update after that meeting. I appreciate ************** responding to my concern and look forward to the resolution of this issue.

      Sincerely,

After my previous attempt to reach out to ************ she did indeed contact me.

We have arranged to meet on Tuesday next week the 10th of January @ 10am so that I can personally inspect her tires and determine the best way to help her.  Midtown Tire is committed to excellent customer service and once her concerns can be confirmed, we will take appropriate action to insure she is satisfied.

      Thank you,

I took my car to Goodyear because the tire was flat and wouldn't hold air. Goodyear said I needed to buy all new tires. I spent $900 on 4 new tires. I picked up the car and the tire pressure light never went off. I brought it back in and they refilled the tire with air and said the light would go off once I had driven it. A week later I take it back a 3rd time and they tell me that the problem isn't the tire, the wheel rim is bent and they can't fix it. If that was the problem, they had no business telling me that I needed to buy all new tires.

Customer was having a continuing issue with air loss from one tire/rim after we installed new tires.  We have agreed to cover her cost to have that rim repaired.

I got an oil change for my 2019 ****** Kicks from Midtown Tire ************************** location. a few days later i started hearing noises, thinking it was something about my oil change - on the way to the body shop my car broke down. i took it back and they replaced my transmission under warranty. when i got my car back 2 weeks later (for only 11 actual working hours on my car) - there was physical damage to my car. my car was also over heating. i tried to speak with them about it and they said to take it back and have it looked at, i did and they said things were disconnected which caused my fan not to work. meaning my car was indeed overheating due to their negligence. when i told them about the physical damage they claimed it was there prior, when i know for a fact my car had no damage at all. i had a body shop give me an estimate of **** dollars of damage. i have tried to get Midtown Tire insurance information but the person who has the info, his name is *****, said he will not give me the info and said the agent of their companys insurance said not to give me the information. i tried to get the info to file a claim and they told me to leave the property. there is visible damage and newly broken pieces that have been noted on the estimate. the broken pieces have been noted by the body shop as fresh breaks. i have tried to get my car fixed and they are not handling it properly or taking liability for the damage caused during the time they had my car.

On April 30th 2022 we started a workorder for ******************.  Her vehicle was towed to us with a possible transmission problem.  We verified the problem and obtained approval through a 3rd party warranty company.  We obtained the necessary repair parts, made the repairs and test drove the vehicle.  With repairs confirmed, we returned the vehicle to ****************** on May 10th.  Total repair time for a major repair such as this of 8 business days in not uncommon especially considering having to obtain warranty approval and parts from the dealer.

After she contacted us, on 5/13 I personally met with ****************** at another of our locations to inspect her vehicle.  During this inspection I found a poor connection at the cooling fan module which was causing her cooling fan to malfunction.  I repaired this at no cost to her.  This was not related in any way to our repairs to the transmission.

At no time did we cause any physical damage to ********************** vehicle nor did we witness or have any knowledge of such damage.  There is clear evidence that the vehicle has been repaired in the past most likely due to a collision in the front end of the vehicle.  I have attached pictures showing paint overspray, paint runs and a broken driver's side headlamp which has been zip-tied - none of which did we do or are we responsible for.

Additionally we have no history of performing an oil change for ****************** as she states above.  ****************** also states that "she was on her way to the body shop" when her car broke down before she towed it to us.

Midtown Tire denies any responsibility for the body damages to ********************** vehicle and any other problems beyond the scope of repairs we made to the transmission.

I am rejecting this response because:

My car had no damage what so ever when i brought it to Goodyear Midtown Tire. I have asked to see camera footage as well as the insurance information to file a claim and both was rejected to me. i have had my car looked at and appraised by 2 different companies which both said they are recent breaks in the plastic , the zip tie was not there before. i have had this car for a year . i know the damage is new and my car was in perfect condition before bringing it in.  I will be taking it to court.
      Sincerely,
