I purchased a set of Kumho Ecsta tires from **************** in **********, WV on 3/15/2021 and got ****** miles out of them. They have a 45k mile tread life warranty. ******** was able to replace tires with new set of same tires on 6/27/22. Those tires wore to below tread bars in ***** miles. I bought a new set of tires of a different brand on 4/14/23 from Triple K and asked them to pursue getting me a prorated refund. They worked with the wholesaler, On Demand Tires....now Simple Tire, as well as with the manufacturer. Each time, they were told to contact the opposite party. Wholesaler says to contact manufacturer and vice-versa.Business response

Hello,
Sorry you had issues with your tires. When you spoke with ******** back in 2022, other authorized retailers were recommended who could help submit your warranty claim. Did they also refuse to assist?
While **************** sold you the tires and should be responsible for processing your warranty claim, they are not one of our authorized retailers which made the process difficult. Adding the fact that they purchased from a strictly online retailer like Simpletire.com created the situation we have now.

I had four Kuhmo tires on my Dodge Caravan. Turns out the belts were shifted. My mechanic called me to have a look. I then contacted Kuhmo tire warranty. They sent me a form to fill out and I did to the best of my ability. My son emailed it for me. They responded by email and said if more information was needed they would contact me. Three months went by and nothing. My son emailed Kuhmo warranty for me. I had sent pictures of my tires clearly showing the shifted belts. Kuhmo tire ***********,***** then started harassing me. I have asked him to look at the pictures and refused to. Please look at all the emails.Business response

On 12/30/2020, my purchase of a KIA ***** with KUMHO OEM tires was underway. KUMHO ***** partner, ****************************** of ******, **, was repeatedly advised and it deferred to local tire centers for non-lifer maintenance. Then, ***'s Club Tire ***** & Discount Tires ***** both indicated a bad tire, contact warrantor. Since then, online references for KUMHO made no reply. In ****************, **, "*****" advised ******** would get her email. My predicament is that the dealer transferred Kumho warranty to me at point of sale but no one will tell me where to address replacement tire issue at. *********** has shrugged so please advise me on this issue ASAP. I think this issue is bigger than warranty-only because nonresponse at Kumho underpins my claim and drags this process out. So if it ignores me for a reason, I need that to come out now.Business response

I purchased some Kumho tires 4 of them for my vehicle in March 2022 and now I need some more new tires. My tires are bad. When I usually purchase tires they last me over 3 years.Business response

Sorry you had issues with your tires. All Kumho Tires come with a 6-year warranty to protect the original owner against manufacturing issues. Many Kumho Tires also come with extended warranties such as mileage warranties and road hazard warranties. To process a warranty, please return to the original seller of the tires. I purchased these at ******* and they wont accept them. They told me to reach out to the maker of the tire when I try to call I receive no response. I keep getting the run around. Kuhmo telling me to return tires to seller and which is ******* and they wont accept the tires

I have had my brand new car for 1 year in June. I have had to replace a tire back on March 4, 2023 that cost $182.51 due to a pinhole in the inside of the back of the tire. Not because I hit something or caused damage. Now today I go outside and my rear passenger tire has a bulge in it so I get to replace that tire tomorrow that will cost me $152.00 So far I am out $334.00 on 2 tires in a year on a brand new car.Initial Complaint

I purchased a new vehicle with this companys tires. I had a blow out with less that 10k miles on my new tires that did extensive damage to my vehicle. I immediately called Kumho tires warranty number and did not get a call back for weeks after leaving several messages. I had the warranty brochure that outlined owner obligations, one of which was to take the tire to a certified Kumho Dealer, which I did. I field a warranty claim for the tire and damage and followed all instructions, yet they denied my claim for not keeping the tire, although it never said to do so in the warranty brochure and they took far too long to respond to my calls to verify I was keeping everything necessary, so I simply followed the brochure instructions. I am seeking a resolution for them to reopen and cover my warranty claim since they failed to disclose the need to retain the tire.Business response

Hello,
Based on Kumho Tire's records, ********************************* called on 5/10, and a Kumho Tire Representative called her back the same day but could not get her on the phone. The next time Kumho Tire spoke with ************************ was on 5/16, 4 business days later.
All information pertaining to Product Liability Claim submission was sent on 5/22, which included the request for the tire, and photos of the failed tire/damaged vehicle for verification. Required photos and documentation were sent to Kumho Tire on 6/9 by ************************. The photos did not include the failed tire.
Without evidence confirming the tire caused the vehicle damage, no credit can be given.

no where in the manual does it say I must take photos or keep the tire. Had the manual said that I would have done so. No where does say that in the manual under owners obligation.The tire should be replaced at the very minimum.

We purchased a 2018 ****** Rogue with Kuhmo tires installed. The car has approximately 28k miles on tires and there is chunks of tire tread that are missing on all 4 tires. I contacted the Kuhmo customer service department and they directed me to have the tires inspected by ******, I complied. When the service advisor contacted Kuhmo tires with a warranty repair, it was rejected. I was not looking for a free set of tires. I would have gladly accepted a mutually agreed upon solution. To me, with my vast experience as a mechanic, the tires are completely unacceptable in the quality of manufacturing and are unsafe. My fear is that there are many cars on the road with damaged and defective tire treads that will cause accidents on wet surfaces.Initial Complaint

On or around November 21, 2022 I went to NTB tire shop to inquire about my VA state inspection and whether my tires would need to be replaced to pass inspection. I was told that there were 2/32s of tread on each of the 4 tires (they were all evenly worn), but it was questionable that they would pass once the vehicle was put on the lift for inspection. I was told that NTB was not an authorized dealer for Kumho tires and I should call them about my warranty. The tires had a ****** mile warranty and had been driven only $35,000.I called Kumho and was given the name of only two tire shops in *************** that I could take my vehicle to for warranty work. The first said they no longer worked with Kumho. The second, *********** said, "I guess we are still an authorized distributor, but haven't used them for about 5 or 6 years." I took my vehicle to *********** on or around November 22, 2022. I was told virtually the same thing as at NTB: tread was at 2/32s and vehicle may not pass once it was put on the lift. The state inspector at *********** added, "even if it passes inspection I wouldn't feel safe driving around on these tires this winter."I agreed with Settle to have the tires replaced with the same model Kumho tires after they contacted Kumho and were told they would ********* 45% of the cost, assuming the wear was as reported. They put on the new tires and sent the old tires to the Kumho distributor, who said the tires had 5/32s remaining and voided the warranty. *********** asked for the tires to be returned (multiple times) in order to understand how they could have been so wrong in measuring (highly unlikely the case as 3 employees got the same measurement), but the distributor would not return them.My bill was $1,156.58 paid on 12/1/2022. The four 275/45VR20XL KME Crugen HP71 tires pre-tax were $809.72.I would like to receive the promised 45% warranty reimbursement or return of my old tires (as they presumably have 5/32s tread remaining).Initial Complaint

Hello to whom it may concern, My name is ********************************* ****** and I am writing because my mother-in-********* for kumho tire company and she recently suffered a hip accident her health is deteriorating but she refuses to stop working. Which would be OK if the conditions of her work environment were not killing her. Not only does she work for a very low pay & is being paid under the table (which makes me nervous because Im afraid shell be charged with fraud and get her social security benefits taken away) but she could get in a lot of trouble for it. I am also worried because I know that she drinks a lot and the drivers that work there are selling her prescription pills which have already been disapproved by her doctor until she stops drinking. Im very worried about the health of my mother-in-law *************************** and it breaks my heart that there are companies that are taking advantage of people in her situation. I might not be able to stop her from going to work but maybe I can help her find a more suitable company if this company is held accountable and responsible for their actions.
