I gave the owner of Hour Watch Repair, ***************************, many watches to repair, all at one time over 6 years ago. He returned many, but kept 5 for a very long time. He gave several reasons for delay, including the difficulty in finding replacement parts, Covid, flooding of workspace, sickness and loss of family. 3 of the 5 not returned were 14k and one was 18k ladies pocket watch with a 18k chain. I have known *** since the late 90's, so I trusted him and continued to to have hope in the situation. 4 of the watches were family pieces and meant a lot to me. A few months ago, my grandfather's pocket watch came back to me in a different case, not the original 14k gold, and not fixed. Another 14k pocket watch came back in a non gold case, and he returned a ball watch not fixed. I wanted to get the last two back, so I chose not to raise these issues, as he continued to say he would get the last 2 back to me the next month. He often said he would follow up but rarely did, The last two watches include the first watch my father gave me, a 14k pocket watch, and my great-grandmother's 18k watch described above. On November 10th this year, I visited his shop as he stopped answering my calls. I asked for the last 2 watches to be returned. He said they were buried in all the other watches, to which I replied that I would help him find them. He then said, well maybe they were stolen when the shop flooded and some young guys were helping him or they might have been thrown out. This was the first time he had ever admitted to their "possible" disappearance. I told him I would check with my insurance company to follow up with him. I don't believe they were lost, as two clearly came back in a different bodies. Once he said "You had so many watches why did I need them back," and then back-tracked. I trusted To. I am not sure of his reasons, but in the end he has both kept and damaged my property. This has caused me much stress, sadness, disappointment and frustration.
