On ******* I spent $2,005.48 at C&C Auto to fix a leaking driveshaft yoke on my **** ***** ***** VIN ***********XXXXXX. It had around 212,530 mi. on the odometer at the time, but they omitted a digit when entering the mileage on the invoice (invoice shows "21253"). One of the other jobs they did was a **** ** ****** Transmission Service" charging $266.11 for that. Weeks later while cruising on the interstate, the RPM's randomly revved up to over 4,000 - the transmission all of a sudden wouldn't shift out of 1st gear. The ******** ****** shows no transmission issues. The ***** sat in my driveway for months because I didn't have the money to replace a transmission. I took the ***** back to the same C&C Auto 2 weeks ago explaining the situation to them, & that the vehicle had only been driven around 3,200 mi. since they serviced it. They came back with around a $5,200 estimate for a new transmission. I wouldn't spend that amount of money with them when just a few months ago I already spent $2,005.48 for them to break my transmission. Their employee I had been in talks with, Michelle, understood & said she would "make some calls." She called back saying they'd install a rebuilt transmission for around $3,500, & somehow was able to discount 100's of dollars off what they normally charge because they knew they were in the wrong. That was still too rich for me, so I got a manager at another location get the owner involved. They then came back saying they would discount it even further by removing the $266.11 for the initial **** ** ****** Transmission Service" from this rebuilt transmission because they knew that was the cause of my transmission no longer shifting out of 1st gear. Michelle even told me she had a high mileage ********* (200,000+ miles like my ****** she wouldn't have serviced because introducing those not components normally causes transmissions to fail like mine had. If they told me that in the 1st place, I wouldn't have had them service the transmission.
