    I contracted with SS for roof repair and new gutters. my contract date was 11/20/2024. I paid them $5814 deposit for the roof repair and agreed to a full gutter installation. They told me it would be scheduled for February and the work would all be done at the same time,, repair and gutter installation. They called me once in January and said I would be contacted and scheduled within the following week. I started calling them back in early March and have been getting the run around. Now they just hang up on me. I would like my cash back and a cancelation of the contract so I can get another, reputable, roof repair service to fix my roof. And I'll find another gutter service too.

    They substituted a 'like' product which I am accepting for the roof repair.

    I am waiting for them to come with paperwork this week to cancel the rest of my contract for the gutters which I no longer want as I have no confidence in them.

    I will reach out to BBB once I have canceled contract in my hands.

    My wife and I purchased 21 ***** windows on 23 April 2021, and they were installed on 23 July 2021. The windows have a Life-Time Limited Warranty. A few months ago, sometime about 24 October 2024, I submitted a service call because two of the windows were clouding. The technician came and determined that the clouding was caused by gas leaks due to broken seals. The windows were ordered and installed. While inspecting the new replacement windows, I discovered gaps. I then looked at the other 20 windows and found they were the same. In addition, one of the windows in my Sunroom is stuck shut. I will not open. I submitted another service call for the gap issue. A technician came out sometime around the end-of-month December 2024 and confirmed the issue. The technician said someone would be contacting me to discuss a solution. As of today, 27 February 2025, no one has contacted me. I have called six times or more over the past two months and the last couple of times I was told that the service manager will be scheduling a time to do a walk-through to determine a solution. I am still waiting. Meanwhile, my concern in addition to energy loss is that it's warming up. The Geckos and bugs are starting to crawl and will start coming through the openings again. Lastly, Southern Siding and Window Company, has performed annual inspections on the windows since the install. However, nothing has never been noted referencing the gaps in our 21 windows, which is very concerning. In my opinion the issue with the windows is a COVID period manufacturing flaw.

    I appreciate Southern Siding reaching out and informing me that they are working on a solution. However, I request for the company to provide confirmation of the repair plan and to confirm the date that the repairs will be completed. This issue should have been identified on the previous annual inspections. In addition to insects and geckos creeping through into our home, it's been difficult to maintain set temperatures, as we are losing energy. And I did not understand why until I discovered the openings on all our 21 windows. I am requesting priority for our repairs.

    I am rejecting this response because: The repairs were scheduled for 8:30 AM, today 1 April 2025. However, no one showed up. I called Southern Industries at 10:40 AM to see if the technicians were still coming. No one answered, so I left a message and requested a call back. It is now 4:45 PM. The technicians did not show up and nor did I receive a return call.  

    The bottom line is, Southern Industries needs to honor their warranty and repair or replaced our windows ASAP.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. 

    The repairs were completed today, Thursday 10 April 2025. The Technician Shane and his Helper did a really good job. There are serval windows that I noticed after they left, that need recaulking. I will call to schedule an appointment. Thanks Southern Industries.

    When I went to this company to replace my windows I was guaranteed that it would lower my electric bill and make my home more comfortable. Since they have been installed I have contacted them to let them know that the windows were still letting cold and hot air into the house and leak, Because they would not investigate I had another company look at the windows and they said they were leaking and air was still coming in and out and are discolored .For 60,000 dollars I do not expect for the windows to be discolored and my electric bill to still be 600.00 or more a month. I have tried to work with them but it seems like after they do the work they do not want to live up to the quality that they insist on telling you is the best. I do not feel that they have taken my appeals to them very seriously and just keep blowing me off. If their product is not the best then they should not make that claim if they are not willing to stand behind them. They would like to be paid and I do not have a problem in keeping my end of the bargain I just want them to resolve my issues and fix the windows.

    Southern Industries installed replacement windows throughout my entire house with a lifetime warrenty. Two of the double pane winows developed leaks and are now discolored inside the glass. I was told by their respresentative that the warrenty was a "manufacturer's warrenty" for a company that is now out of business. Therefore, the lifetime warranty did not apply. I was never given a printed warrenty at the time of the instillation, nor was it explained that the warrenty was not backed by Southern Industries. For all I know the manufacturer of the window may have been a subsiturary of Southern Industries. Additionally, three different windows were destroyed in the recent Helene Hurricane. Souther Industries makes the same claim that they also are not covered by the lifetime warrenty and for the same reason.

    Southern Siding and Window will certainly try to help Mr. *******s window concerns related to warranty.  The windows offer a manufacturers warranty from the manufacturer and an installation warranty from Southern Siding and Window.  The installation warranty is for 5 years.  The windows that were damaged by the hurricane are not related to warranty work. The hurricane is considered storm damage and should be filed with their homeowners insurance company. I will try to reach Mr. ******, his wife and contractor to sort out.

    On or about October *** 2024 a person from southern siding came in an response to some storm damages on the front and side of my house ( blown off facia panels at top of roof). On the lower sides flashing in need of replacing both sides. I communicate with southern siding and windows to include production supervisor David H***** many of times but no update have been given. David assured me that both sides of my house, fascia and flashing would be taken care of and he seems surprised when I talked to him that nothing has been done. The open damaged area have saturated with moister from all of the rain showers we've had since the approved project at the beginning of October 2024.

    Signed a contract to install my new trim on the outside of the house. Paid the 25% up front as asked. It has been over 2 months. I have tried to call the local store, and they send me to the national telephone line. I have called the salesman, and he will not answer my call. I have left messages for the General Manager, and he will not return my calls. I have asked for my deposit back and they will not answer calls or emails.

    I have two issues. I have numerous leaks with my K-guard gutters and in the past Southern has repaired as part of their lifetime warranty. Now their Service Management is changing the policy that I will have to pay for leaks eventhough they are advertising no maintenance required. They also advertise that the finish durability is good for 20 years and my finish is coming off after only 8 years (2016). "Durability: The lifespan of the K-Guard system is practically unlimited. Made of heavy-duty aluminum, the base material will not corrode. The coatings on the gutter and hood will last over 20 years, and the patented hangers give our gutters the strength to withstand virtually any weather conditions."

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  Excellent response once the right folks got involved.  The company stood behind their product and assisted me in getting the warranty claim paperwork submitted and the repair work completed.  This complaint would have never been submitted if the Southern Representative that initially came to my home had treated me in the way that the customer service folks treated me.  Companies need to take note of these types of employees that hurt their business model and their long time customers.
