      I have two issues. I have numerous leaks with my K-guard gutters and in the past Southern has repaired as part of their lifetime warranty. Now their Service Management is changing the policy that I will have to pay for leaks eventhough they are advertising no maintenance required. They also advertise that the finish durability is good for 20 years and my finish is coming off after only 8 years (2016). "Durability: The lifespan of the K-Guard system is practically unlimited. Made of heavy-duty aluminum, the base material will not corrode. The coatings on the gutter and hood will last over 20 years, and the patented hangers give our gutters the strength to withstand virtually any weather conditions."

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  Excellent response once the right folks got involved.  The company stood behind their product and assisted me in getting the warranty claim paperwork submitted and the repair work completed.  This complaint would have never been submitted if the Southern Representative that initially came to my home had treated me in the way that the customer service folks treated me.  Companies need to take note of these types of employees that hurt their business model and their long time customers.

      ********* I got an estimate from two workers from Southern Siding and Windows: Steve ****** and Allen ****** came out gave me an estimate on a walk in shower and collected $2000.00 from me. Four months later two other workers (father and son) came out to remeasure and stated they would come back when the material came in, About 2 to 3 weeks later I got a call from the installation guys and stated they had my material and we agree they would come out the next moring to start. Early that morning I recieved an text that his son was sick and soon as he got better they would come back (COVID was very bad at this time and I understood). No one every call and I did not hear anything else. I called the company and told them I changed my mind and I know the contract stated they would hold 15% but they are telling me no we changed it to 30% and I stated it probably went up but the contract I signed stated 15%. When I do call, it is always the manager name Jimmy will call you back and I never recieve a call back . I made several attempts but I get ignored .

      There are several complaints. We went with this company to have gutters installed. They did the complete house, nice job. We asked if they do decks and they said yes. We gave them a picture of what we wanted and they said they could do it. No problem, contract signed with the understanding the total price for both jobs was going to be 18,100, but no 18,100 was only for the deck. Okay. They said they had to pull permit, ok. next was they have to go by code and for our deck it would have to have cement under it again, ok. The understanding was for us to be able to walk out house door right onto deck. The cement was poured so high they said they couldn't put a wooden floor. I said I want a wooden deck, they messed around with and they did what they wanted to do. We had no choice now because cement had been poured and setup. The carpenter came out and the manager Peter C****** and tried to figure out what to do. They started the wood way back. The job became such a headache, the one contractor cussed at us and then did a letter of apology to us. Several calls I made because water was and still today coming into our house. Our enclose patio which is more like a lounge area with carpet and memorabilia is getting damaged. The ceiling is mildew, The carpet is damaged from rain water coming in. Finally I called the Licenses and Inspection, they said the company has to put in for them to come out and inspect. I called Southern Siding to tell them this, deck had been completed since June. A week ago an inspector came out to inspect the footing only, which failed. he noticed other things that would have failed, but said he couldn't put it on the notice because this inspection is only for the footing. He told us that in time our wood was going rot out. The whole job is a failure. The inspector said, picots too far apart, rise on steps exceeds 7 3/4, frame covered can't inspect, slab not properly flushed against house, no handrail stairs, Looks like steps are not correct. Help!

Also the inspector still has to come out before they can start anything else. One man here and there for like 3 to 4 hours a day and not everyday is not satisfactory. This has been a nightmare.       We are reluctantly lodging a formal complaint against Southern Siding & Window Co, 259 Bobby Jones Expressway, Augusta, GA 30907. On March 2016 we hired this company to install gutters on our house which is located *** ****** **** ****** ****** ** XXXXX. We paid them and they installed the gutters. Subsequently, we hired them to perform many services on our house including a new roof, new windows, and new screen doors. Throughout the years they have contacted us multiple times to see if we wanted any more upgrades on our house. Several years ago, neighbors point out to us that these new gutters had paint peeling from them. Unfortunately, my wife was very ill and we did not pursue this issue. Finally on March 16, 2021 we called the company (X-XXX-XXX-XXX) and complained. We were assured that someone would get back to us. Months passed but they did not contact us and thus we called them again July 28, 2021. The lady who I talked to at Southern Siding & Windows then looked us on her computer and expressed surprise that no one had contacted us. She told us that the company would contact us. We waited and finally called again on September 23, 2021. We were told that the manager of the Gutter Section (Mr. ******** would call us. I even left messages directly with him. I called again on October 18, 202`. Finally, today it has reached a point that they obviously do not plan to respond to us and correct the problem.
