We have had a long drawn out very poor experience with Blue Ridge Handyman LLC. Not so much the quality of the work, it’s really about the lies, poor communication, and unethical practice of drawing payment without intention to complete the work. They began the process of adding an addition of less than 600 sq ft to our property in November of 2020. During the period of November 2020 and today we have paid them any and all deposits and draw payments on the date requested. We paid in full on 7/8/2022 to assist them with a personal financial situation they had. This was done in good faith and with the understanding that our project would be completed on August 15, 2022. We have this in writing. Since that time there has been a consistent lack of commitment to being on site to complete this job. The average hours spent on site since 8/15 is less than 9 hours per week. There have been countless times where we were told BRHM would be here and they simply did not show up. This is also well documented. Here’s what’s left to do: *Finish vanities in both bathrooms. ($1,000) *Finish trim in entire addition. ($1,000) *Hang two doors now. Three more when the special order arrives. ($1,250) *Demo existing bathroom. Finish ceiling and walls with tongue and groove pine. ($1,000) *Build Hallway closet in old bathroom. ($1,000). *Repair the shoddy paint job in the rear of the house. We have photos showing the poor workmanship. ($500 to repair) *A huge pile of rubbish left unattended in our driveway. We have photos. ($250 to clean up) We are seeking an immediate payment back to us of $6,000 in order to get our home into safe inhabitable space. The prices listed are based on costs from the original quote as well as prices from other tradesman. We have very detailed documentation to verify our claim. It’s frustrating and embarrassing to be tangled up in this “take the money and run” situation. We appreciate any help or guidance you can offer.
