      Highly Disappointed to read CLOSED sign , been here since 830 trying to talk to someone, Why not tell folks hey no need to come, we're closed, cancelled all reservations, highly unacceptable Nevermind they kept sending emails reference the reservations, and another yesterday morning reminding you to be there 830am to sign waivers, that's messed up, the email should had read Im sorry Blue Ridge Freedom Rail Bikes cancelled all adventures, no need to come, and oh we are refunding you the $222.55 we already charged you, this is very upsetting, unacceptable, I would like to see a full refund immediately, they didn't waste no time taking your money! ****** ******* & Family

      My family strongly believe it was a short on employees to work the rail bikes, not what the sign says dangerously high heat conditions, I have screenshots every morning it was between 73 and 75 degree's between the 8am -10am hours there in Blue Ridge, I have tried to reach Freedom Rail bikes by email and phone, the phone leads to mailbox full, unable to leave message, I had to wait on the bank to reopen from the holiday weekend, I have now let my bank know of this problem, this is wrong, & I should indeed be refunded the full $222.55, Booking # 123606410, Thanks

      We paid for an online reservation on 06/08/22 for 06/22/22. We received our confirmation email on 06/21/22 verifying our reservation time and the address on Depot Street where were supposed to complete waivers. We arrived to find multiple other families waiting for assistance. A shocked Blue Ridge Railroad employee arrived and quickly explained there would be no rail bike rides that day as per notification from Freedom RailBikes. She (Judy) explained that was told all customers had been notified of the cancellations via email. All the families verified that we had never received a cancellation email. On the contrary, everyone showed the emails CONFIRMING or reservations for that day and time. The Blue Ridge were very kind and apologetic, but explained they don’t work for Freedom RailBikes and were just as surprised and upset as we were. Some of those families drove a long way to get there at 10:30 on a Wednesday morning with reservation confirmation emails in hand only to find out the Freedom RailBikes operation was shuttered when we arrived with zero notice. Obviously, we were surprised and disappointed. Next began our attempts to get a refund. Two voicemails and an email got no response, so I had to dispute it through my bank. Needless to say, we won’t be endorsing Freedom RailBikes to any local families. I still have the only emails from Freedom RailBikes if anyone cares to review them. The most frustration one was the robo email we received the day after we were turned away thanking us for our visit. Not a good feeling!

      We traveled more than 100 miles out of our way to ride the rails only to find the business closed. We booked our ride on 6/11. We received a reminder email the day before we were supposed to ride telling us to be there a 1/2 hour early. According to a business nearby they hadn’t seen anybody at the business in over a week. Someone else we talked to said they removed the bikes from the rails 4 or 5 days prior. A simple email to let us know our ride was cancelled would be the right thing to do and would have saved us several hours of driving. Really bad business

      TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! They called less than 3hrs before our ride time & said we needed to be 40 minutes early. I explained that we were 2hrs away and had planned to be there 15min early, as the website indicated when we booked several days ago. She took note of my name & said that would be fine. We got there at the time we said we would & were told we wouldn't be able to to ride a rail bike because we were the last ones to sign in & one was broken. She said to fill out the waiver anyway & we could ride if someone didn't show. As we were filling out our waiver, another group showed up that hadn't signed in yet. Yay! I thought we would for sure be able to ride. Instead, she let them on the rail bikes ahead of us & told us we could ride on the speeder, a motorized cart that pulls the bikes for half of a refund. We had driven 2hrs just for the rail bikes. I asked if they had a 4pm slot we could do instead. She said no, that they had cancelled that one due to the owners being in town. I let her know I wasn't happy with it & we reluctantly got in the speeder. Once we were on, we were then told I'd be going backwards the whole trip. What was suppose to be a peaceful ride through nature and the highlight of my daughter's spring break, turned into a noisy exhaust filled ride pulling the other bikers. She should've given us a FULL refund and offered a free ride another time to make up for the experience. She knew I was driving two hours and didn't bother to even call. She didn't ask if there were any locals that might be willing to come back the next day. It was ride the loud stinky speeder, which broke down halfway through requiring us to wait for someone to repair it, or nothing. I suggest anyone that isn't local not to travel there for the experience. We were informed that their carts jump track often, which is what broke the one that was down that day. The owner was there and didn't offer to make it right either.

      Never under any circumstances have we eve asked anyone to be 40 minutes early. Even though living 2 hours away you would only plan on precisely 15 minutes early with traffic, etc. This in itself tells you the type of client you are dealing with, She was given the option to ride on the speeder with a refund. She gladly accepted, smiled, laughed and waved until the ride was over. Then after an apology for the situation, a full refund, a gift certificate for gas and 2 free tickets for a future ride that she snatched right up (even though she hated the entire experience) she still could not control her despicable attitude toward her fellow man. I rate her as a human being a 1 and all my workers cringe at the thought of her ever returning
