One 2/21/2023 I called Stiles Heating and Cooling to service an AC unit that is still under warranty. They replaced the part and we paid the bill of $409. However, I got suspicious about the high price of the bill, considering that the job was completely very quickly. Because the unit is under warranty I was supposed to be charged labor only. At $409 that would be almost $200/hr labor, because it took the technician around 2 hrs to complete the work, which includes driving somewhere to pick up the part. I called the company and talked with them about the price and they insisted it's fair. HOWEVER, they began to explain that other overhead costs other than labor are factored into the bill. I asked them to give some money back and they refused. After this conversation, I was left feeling that I have no idea what I actually paid for, and I'm convince I paid more than only labor.
