I hired *******************************, of C.R.S Home Services, to remodel a home in ***********, **. This was a large remodel project and he told me he had a crew and that he could do the project in 6-8 weeks. He provided an estimate that we both agreed to and required a $10,000 deposit upfront for material cost. I gave him the deposit on time. A month or maybe more down the road I asked him for receipts of material he had purchased and it took days for him to provide those. He eventually provided only $3,000 in receipts, however, I am not certain the items were purchased for my project. This is only the beginning of the problems. ***** continued to ask me and my wife for help getting materials. Eventually I said enough and told him that I gave him the money for materials he needed and we agreed that he would go get them. He continued to waste time on the job, he never should up with a crew only his girlfriend who had zero experience. Another month past and I paid him two invoices for his labor at that point. The two invoices together equaled roughly $12,000. A few weeks before I finally fired him. My wife and I ended up having to go over and clean the home and organize everything to even think about how to proceed. ***** would never order a dumpster after I repeatedly asked him to have one delivered. He had piles of trash and debris all over the home and always had an absurd excuse for his laziness. He even left hundreds of cigarette butts out in the open on the porch. After I hired another contractor we found out all of the things he was doing wrong and trying to cover up with sheet rock or plywood. Here are a few. 4 load bear walls that he had removed and not properly supported, he told us they were not load bearing. He had multiple fire hazards from pieced together electrical wiring that would for sure at some point catch fire. He did not install any headers above the new doorways. Once I let him go I asked for my money back and I have not heard from him since.
