The electricians at ServiceWise are very nice, very professional. As far as we know they do good work. However, they billed us for 80% of the estimate when only half the work was done. We didn't know for sure the work they HAD done operated correctly because there was no way to check it.
I've never known a company to prepay such a high percentage of a job. Half now, half on completion sometimes. Most require no payment until the end of the job. Asking for 80% in advance is problematic. We paid for half because they had completed half. Also, this was not discussed in advance so we knew nothing about such a policy. They also billed us twice in a 24 hour period for 80% which made us think they were short of cash. I understand how companies operate...I owned one myself for 25 years. We never asked for payment until the product was delivered and the customer was happy.
So....just know this is their approach. It is not an approach that is normal by any means.

Servicewise Electric is NOT a fly by night company and we stand behind our work 100%.

We bill residential remodel projects on a 80/20 terms. Meaning 80% is due upon completion of the rough and 20% is due upon completion of the trim. We can assure you we are not billing you to "make payroll" as the inappropriate comment your wife made to our office. That is NOT how we operate as a company. The 80% of the electrical work WAS completed which is what you were billed for. That IS normal operating procedure. Work complete = invoice billed = payment due. We are a COD company which was defined in "TERMS & CONDITIONS" on the estimate that you and your wife approved via email PRIOR to work being completed. Once we have completed the "trim-out" portion of your electrical remodel project (which is already scheduled for completion, next Tuesday the 9th, after all other trades have completed their portions) - we will confirm all electrical is in proper working order and then we will bill the remaining 20%.
