We hired Pope's Lawncare and Landscaping LLC. for a trifocal project that involved 1) grading our backyard to reduce standing water, 2) install a French drain, and 3) build a stone retaining wall; all of which ************ told us he was qualified to do. Work began around August 24, 2021 and was completed around September 10, 2021. We inspected the drain and found the length of the corrugated drain was not properly buried. Dirt that covered the length of the drain either washed away or embedded itself inside the drain. We also called ************ back out to re-grade the backyard after noticing the grading left 3 times more water standing in front of our patio than existed before. Re-grading also produced pools of water that now sat along the foundation of the retaining wall. We noticed slight bulging along the wall and the mouth of the French drain filled with mud and dirt. The footers of the wall were not level, the caps were not glued in place, the stones should have had Core Fill. The dirt surrounding the wall was pulling away from the wall, ************ did not install Geo-Mesh between the layers of stone. Some of the stone caps were chipped and defective.On October 22, 2021 during a taped phone call, ************ volunteered to send us a refund for $6702.51. We offered to reduce the refund amount by $ ******, the cost of renting the Bobcat; bringing the refund amount to $6213.49. He told us the refund would arrive on or before November 5, 2021. On November 3, 2021 we called ************ for an update on the refund status. His voicemail indicated his mailbox was full and unable to accept messages. We then attempted to text ************ a number of times since November 3, 2021 asking him to contact us, before the refund deadline, regarding the refund status. Since the call on October 22nd, we have not heard from ************. Our calls and texts have failed to illicit a respond or a refund.We can produce a tape recording and text as proof of his agreement for a refund payment.
