I hired Certa Pro Paint to paint my home in September of this year. They told me that it would be a few weeks before work would begin. Originally, scheduled to begin on 11-22, then was moved up to 11-18. No one showed up on the 18th or 19th. Finally, on Monday the 22nd, painter come to look at the job around 2 pm. No show on the next day, and on Wed. 11-24 they started painting. Finished almost 1/2 of ONE wall in my garage and had to leave early for family emergency.
Two of the painters were from ****** ******, **-over 100 miles away!
They worked on Friday when I found out that the gray color I selected would not cover the white paint on exterior of my house. It would be be twice the price we had agreed on because two coats would be required. They had already purchased 5 gallons of gray before I was told this. Wanted me to pay for that 5 gallons! (Cheaper to buy 5 gallons at a time?)

Finally, near the end of the job the next Friday, I am told that my second chimney-the highest one, of course, is not included in the contract. Painted the one easier to reach.
The person who made the proposal did not see the chimney! The contract did say chimney -not chimneys-and I, unfortunately, did not see this error. The contractor proposed later that they could paint the other chimney for an additional $400.(Bottom line--Painters did not want to climb on steep roof . )
Unfortunately, I paid the contract price, before he came back with the additional $400 proposal. I had to find another painter willing to come do that job.

Painters were ready to leave and I found that my columns on front porch nor floor on screen porch had been painted. White paint drops and spray on the back deck had to be cleaned, had to touchup several places in garage, and also, had to paint trim on screened porch!

Over the years, I have worked with many contractors and painters.
Certa Pro Company was the worstI have ever experienced since being a homeowner for 55 years.

We are sorry you felt that you had a bad experience. We provided a high quality paint job for you the will last you for years. We also informed you upfront that you need to solidify your colors prior to the paint job because our painters show up at your home to start painting and they purchase the quantity of paint needed for the job. Although contractually you should have paid for the $500 of paint that you changed your mind on, we graciously deducted that from your bill. The $400 to paint the chimney was a fair price and you decided not to accept it. Finally, our crew went back and took care of all of the touch-ups in a timely manner. We wish you well.
