I entered into an Agreement with Atlanta Renovation Solutions (ARS, Aldin ********) on 02/13/23 to construct a covered deck with a cinder blocks covered with stone double fireplace. it was determined that existing concrete would need to be cut and re-poured to support deck footing and fireplace. Price of $26650K and $8k deposit, 8K midway and balance on completion in about 2 weeks was given. ** drafted a detailed contract we both signed with deposit paid soon after. Week of 03/01 ARS constructed the 2nd story covered deck with a wood frame of a shell for a fireplace instead of a block supported by temporary posts before pouring foundation. ** said it was due to a wait on concrete for footing from provider so he had to do it this ************* would be done 1-2 weeks with posts installed soon after. I asked why fire place was ********* said to let him handle it as he know what's doing, He asked for $8k more which was paid a couple days later.After receiving the 16K & continued questions about the block fireplace, ** informed me that the fireplaces would be wood with couple feet block on the bottom deck fireplace and he worded the contract wrong. I asked that the work be done as contracted as that was my expectation. On March 23 the county inspection failed and I provided ARS with the list of things that needed to be fixed and ** said it would be done. A couple things were done a few days later but not enough to be reinspected. On 5/1/23 footing as was poured and on 6/5 a block shell of a chimney was constructed with opening supported by wood 2X4s. On 6/8 invoice $6K+ invoice sent to me for the shell block fireplace & footing. I explained that wasn't our agreement and nothing has passed any county ***************** a licensed contractor, said it has nothing to do with him & the invoice needs to be paid. I'm feeling like I've been scammed and none of this will ever be functional, safe nor pass inspection. 16K and 4 months in. smh
