My dog stayed at ********* from 7/5-7/7 for $120. I had a phone call with the owner of Bent Tree Dog Lodge, *********************, on 7/3/24 where I expressed that my dog is a rescue, suffers from anxiety, and that he is triggered by being placed in a crate. **** assured me that my dog would have his own spacious crate and would be closely monitored at his facility. I asked all questions I could think of to ensure I was sending my dog to a place where he would be safe and well taken care of. A driver for Bent Tree picked my dog up from my house on 7/5 at 8:30am. My dog was in perfect health with no ailments prior to being boarded at *********. The driver promised me daily photos and updates while my dog was at *********. I was sent a photo of my dog on 7/5 at 11:30am, and my dog was wearing his collar and had no visible injuries. I didnt hear from anyone all day on 7/6. On 7/6 at 6:24pm I reached out to **** and asked how my dog was doing- no response. I called a couple hours after not getting a response via text and left a voicemail- no call back. On 7/7 I texted **** and asked if I could pick my dog up on my way back to *******. When I got to the property on 7/7, I was met at the gate by a female employee and my dog whose nose was wounded/is filthy covered in dirt/sand/feces. She said his nose looked like that from being in distress and trying to get out of the crate. I was never notified by any staff member at *********. His nose, paw pads, and elbows are completely raw. His leather collar is broken in half and hidden in his food bag. I got no phone call or text to notify me of any issue, nor did the staff member tell me about my dogs collar being broken at pick up. **** still can't give an answer as to why my dogs collar was snapped in half. We went to the vet on 7/8 and my dog has an eye infection, tracheal injury, oozing lacerations to both back hocks, and multiple ***** to all 4 paw pads and elbows. My dog left the vet with 5 medications and a $420 bill.
