I signed up to use Planet Fitness in May of 2021, at the ********, ** location. I ended up accepting a job offer in ************** in September 2021 and went physically into the location (even bringing the written request) to cancel my membership. I realized in May 2022, that Planet Fitness was still charging me the monthly rate. I had this same issue happened in ********** when I moved to ******* in 2017. I went physically in (as the only other way to cancel is by mail). Was told it was canceled, and that an e-mail would be sent confirming cancellation. I did not received this e-mail both times. last time, I had to try to get a hold of ******** (who does the billing for Planet Fitness) only to be told only the franchise location can cancel it. Took me almost 2.5 years to get it to stop (and because I never received the cancellation e-mail, they would not refund anything, which at the time I just cared to get it stopped). Here I am once again, trying to get Planet Fitness to cancel this. I even sent an e-mail to the location requesting this to stop (I'm not local anymore to be able to physically go in). I probably won't even get a refund. But I do need this to stop being charged. This is illegal and almost fraud. Without the cancellation e-mail, there's no refund, and yet, the e-mail is not received right away either (but the billing e-mail from ******** comes through no issue, so obviously PF has the correct e-mail). I'm requesting BBB help me get this site's attention, as of May 2022, I have not received an answer to e-mail request using the link on their website. I also refuse to call in, as with no proof of the conversation, I would hit the same roadblock as before, of "no proof" or evidence of any request. This is why I need to do this all in writing. So no question this was requested. The fact this is a recurring issue with PF franchises and no change in cancelling process is dishonest, causing many others I've talked to about the same issue a huge headache.
