I needed to find basic public information about an address for an individual and this company advertised that the cost for the service was one dollar. This seemed reasonable but the payment would only accept a credit card which I provided. I was then informed today, the same day that I signed up, they could not provide any information and that my credit card would be charged $28.95. False advertising and Deceptive trade practices.Business response

I was supposed to be charged $1. THEN after a trial period $6. Then after full price. I signed up today put my card information and i see on my charges they charged me $28.95. Same Day sign up and charged full subscription price. False advertising and over chargingBusiness response

I just noticed multiple charges from this company (Home recordus com) on my bank account. I did not sign up for any services. The fee is always the same $24.95; six charges for the same amount on December 3rd, 7th, 14th, 19th, 27th, and one pending. I went back to my account and there were two charges on November 7th and 21st for $9.95; two on October 8th and 22nd for $24.95; two on September 26th for $9.95 and other on September 10th for $24.95 and two on August 15th and 27th for $24.95. I had not noticed until December as there were six charges and that is what prompted me to go back on my transactions and discovered all the charges mentioned above.Business response

On 11/24/22, I was charged THREE separate times for a transaction. I was requesting information, I agreed to pay the $1.0 for the information, only to find out they have less information than public FREE websites, but I wasnt gonna throw a hissy over a dollar, well then I saw another .95 cent charge I didnt authorize which like what the heck but whatever, but then a charge of 16.95$ ******** my account. I contacted my bank because I DID NOT authorize this 17$ charge, and they didnt approve the request. This business is just taking peoples money and hoping they wont notice.Business response

We performed a search of our customer admin and are unable to find a customer with the information provided. The pricing that is being outlined is also not consistent with any products that we own or operate. I believe we have been mistaken for another company or provider and do not believe this complaint is intended for our business.

I purchased a one time report on 9/10/22 costing $1.00. I did not sign up for any type of subscription. I have since been charged a price of $24.95 twice, $9.95, and $0.97. The last transaction was today after I had sent them a strongly worded email stating that I had never subscribed to this.Business response

I signed up for a $1 trial and was charged $23.95 without warning or my permission. When I asked for a refund they refused stating I signed up for a year membership, thats a lie. I never received a copy of my receipt or anything regarding the charge. This company is a scam.Business response

On July 25, 2022 I paid $1.00 for access on memberreportaccess.com only to receive an email from ***************************** saying that they cant help me so I basically paid for nothing. Since it said it was a $1.00 I was okay with it..next thing you know I got billed for $23.95 on July 25, 2022 which on the website said thing about..I am also getting billed for it again on August 25, 2022. They dont even have an option to cancel your subscription or account on their websitethis company is such a scam!!! I would like a full refund of $49.00!Business response

When I saw a charge for $24.95 on 8/19/22 on my bank account, I went to the website https://www.homerecordusa.com/ to cancel a subscription which I actually don't recall signing up for. On 8/23/22, the 'live chat' claimed it couldn't find my account, asking me to provide my name, email, and the last eight digits of my debit card (I provided the last four) and finally requiring my bank statement, which I refused to provide. I was then directed to email *************************** I did so, also on 8/23/22: "I see a pending charge for $24.95 om 8/19 on my bank account from your site. I don't recall signing up for your service, so I visited your site and asked the "live" chat to cancel my subscription. It was unable to locate my account, suggesting that it might be under a different email address. **** knows you had no trouble finding my account to charge it! Seems to me that you cannot verify that I have an account with you at all, yet charge me anyway. At the end of the chat, I was requested to send my bank statement! You've got to be kidding! Please reverse any charges to my account immediately." The response was a follows: "I apologize for the inconvenience, I request you to please send the copy of bank statement or transaction. We are not able to locate your account with your full name and email address. Please feel free to contact me with any further inquiries or assistance needed. Best regards, *********************** Manager" My response: "No, I am not about to send you my bank statement. Just refund the charge to my account. SInce you could find it easily enough to charge it, you must be able to make such a transaction." Their resonse: "We are sorry to inform you that we are unable to locate any account under your email address in our customer database. As we are unable to locate an account there should not be anything charged to you. If you still see charges then kindly share your bank statement showing the charges from us and we will assist you accordingly." I refused.Business response

Can you please have a look at your billing statement and confirm that the descriptor on your credit card says homerecordusa.com or homerecordus.com. There is another provider that has a very close domain to us and we have seen issues in the past where people have mistaken us for them. I searched our customer admin for your information and am unable to find it using your name, email, phone number and any other identifiable information you have provided as you were previously advised when you spoke to our. customer service team.
Once you have checked, please confirm that you in fact had a transaction with one of our competitors so we can ensure this issue gets resolved for you. If your bank statement in fact shows our company then I will be happy to issue a refund check for any charges that you identify on your credit card statement that came from us.

It has been well established that you cannot find my account information in your records, from the initial chat through the emails cited. That doesn't need to be said again. As requested, here is my bank information about this transaction.

You may have sent the bank statement but there have been no attachments in any of your messages. Please tell me what your bank statement says for the charges you received, what is the description? I will confirm that it is not our business that has charged you. If you had purchased from us we would have a record of this in our customer admin which we have searched using your name, your email, and phone number and still nothing is coming ** in our results.
I would happily provide a full refund if we could actually find you in our customer admin but nothing is matching up with any of the details you have provided.
