I decided to take my 2014 Chevrolet Silverado **** to this shop to have a new catalytic converter installed. I purchased a brand new ***************** Direct Fit ***** catalytic converter Y-pipe for this shop to install.Once arriving home I looked underneath my truck to check the exhaust since I had the same problem I went in with. The shop did NOT install this catalytic converter y-pipe correctly. They opted to cut the converter into several pieces and weld their own pipes in. This upset me since now I would no longer have the manufacturer's warranty which would cover it for 25k miles for performance and 5 years/50k miles for structural integrity. I went back to the shop and they stated that this was the only way to install this part. This is absolutely incorrect - they took the "easy way out" to avoid having to remove some other items to install it.I continued to do the drive cycle on the truck to reset the emission monitors which would never work to allow me to pass emissions. I continued to have the same few codes. I took the truck to the *** dealership in ****** to have it diagnosed and they stated the problem is that I needed a new catalytic converter since the welds were leaking and not lined up. I then went back to this shop and showed them the paperwork from the dealership so that they could fix it correctly. They looked underneath the truck for a few minutes and said it was not leaking and that all welds looked good.Long story short, this "company" did not do what they agreed to do - install my part. Instead, they destroyed it and put it together with different parts. They need to reimburse me for the part I provided and labor at the minimum, but they said they would not and that they'd rather go to court...some "business" this is.
