Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/21) */ Dear BBB< I am Eben Gray and owner of Eben Gray's Tree Service. We pride on doing exceptional work at a fair price. We have been in business since 2006 and have always kept the highest of standards in our industry. In the case #******** with *** ********, we tried to reconcile the situation properly with a second visit to discuss further plans, however Mr. ******** was unapproachable and very angry. He was informed that because we have licensed arborists on staff, that we could not trim excessive amounts off of his trees because it would kill them. He agreed to trim as much as possible. At completion he was still not satisfied and argumentative with my crew as well with my female salesperson, ************. We made a couple attempts to resolve this matter but after his aggression I did not feel that it was safe to step foot on his property again. EGTS provided the exact service Mr. ******** has contracted us to do. We were intending on re-stacking the logs in the back yard just to appease him but his aggression towards my employees had me decide not to put my employees in that type of situation. He is not owed any refund and he continuously argued with my staff which caused us to be at his job longer than necessary. Below is the recount of ************, EGTS Salesperson, interaction with Mr. ********. ************: My initial appointment with Mr. ******** we discussed pruning a live oak to raise the canopy and thin the inner crown because we have licensed arborist on staff. He was told we can only remove a certain amount so it wouldn't harm the tree. In my follow up visit, of his initial complaint, *** did a great job and the tree looked really good. He thought we did not remove enough while pruning and I reintegrated what we talked before on not killing the tree. The leaning hickory tree left side of driveway was the same discussion. I told him his best option was to remove the tree because no matter what we took off it would not correct the lean, he wanted me to cut the entire top out of the tree and I told him we wouldn't do that it could kill the tree and if that's what he wanted, he needed to remove it. He declined removal and we pruned as much as we could without it being detrimental to the tree. The trees in the back were small removals but not easily accessed....the ****** would not go back there. I told him we could tote it out by hand but would increase the price. He said we could leave the logs in the back in the woods, which we did. The 3 dogwoods, cherry and plum trees needed minimum pruning which we did. The day I went back to Mr. ******** to listen and try to address his complaints, he stood in the front yard with clinched fists hollering at me. He wanted to listen to nothing I had to Say! Every time I tried to speak, he would interrupt and start hollering again....he finally just went in the house. His wife apologized many times for his behavior and went inside and got a check and paid their bill.
