I paid $750 to USMS LLC and its sales representative used puffing and deceptive tactics to obtain my business and get me to sign a contract. Contacted USMS LLC to validate pick up dates since that would require me to travel by air to be physically present for the pickup. The sales representative confirmed the dates and I purchased a RT airline ticket which cost an additional $350. When the subcontractor's (US Logistics) moving truck arrived, their driver stated that they could only load 3 items of the inventory because that would take up all 300 cu ft. of space unless they were paid an additional $1000 above contract. The 3 items he selected added up to 102 cu ft. which is roughly one third of the contracted space. I asked how could 200 cu ft. account for blankets and the subcontractor's driver could not provide an answer or explanation. I then contacted his supervisor and was told the same thing. The supervisor immediately cancelled the contract over the phone, contacted the driver, and the moving truck left the premises. After failing to reach an agreement for the quoted contract price, the sales representative along with another USMS LLC representative stated that I needed to negotiate with the subcontractor directly and that the subcontractor "would make it work". The supervisor of the subcontractor company called back and restated that they could not move my inventory for less than an additional $1000 which I vehemently rejected for a second time. USMS LLC would not provide a refund and threatened that any action on my part to "put a stop payment or file a dispute with the credit card would fail." USMS LLC took no responsibility for the subcontractor's failure to honor their agreement. I remeasured and recalculated all items in my inventory. The mathematical total of my inventory was 286 cu ft., well under the contracted limit of 300 cu ft.

Everything has been said. Do not, under any circumstances use these people they will make it worse by referring, for your actual move, to a mover that's even worse and/or part of the overall scam.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. THEY ARE FRAUDS AND BELONG IN JAIL!!!United States Moving Services (USMS) are frauds and scammers. They are brokers not movers. My wife called them to get a quote and spent several hours detailing a list of items to be packed to *** her salesman (con-man). He was very responsive and nice quoted her ~$8k and gave us a two day window, a primary with a back up if needed. Our other quotes I had received were around $12K - $14k. My wife booked them with a $3K deposit. Move was supposed to happen Monday. We get called on Friday saying our pack date has been moved to Tuesday. Tuesday arrives and 3 guys in a rented U-Haul truck show up and give us new estimate based on their assessment of $17k and I must pay half now. The quote from means nothing and not honored from USMS. They have us over a barrel because I am on a tight deadline. Movers actually had the gall to ask me for a tip after more than increasing my costs over 2x!I called several times to the crooks at USMS quality assurance and get voicemails, left several voicemails, and no responses. Call the sales number that my wife used and get an immediate response. It was never *** when I called. My wife tried several times to call *** that had been very responsive in the past to no answer The 2 different salesman (con-man) I talked to, one said he would get a manager to call me back (never did) and the other said I should talk to quality assurance. I finally talk to someone at QA and get told that it was just a quote they provided and basically I am SOL and if I try to cancel I am out my $3k deposit. Ask to talk with a manager and they dont have one or someone will call you back. Right now I have no confidence my items are going to make it to our new home and I am expecting some other surprise fees or charges to get my items, if they arrive.

I paid to reserve this company for a planned cross country move, i paid $2,100 deposit and scheduled a February 1 pick up of my furniture, i was told i had up to 8 days prior to my move, to cancel if necessary and get a refund. Due to a family issue i was not able to get my VA home loan and my offer and pre approval all fell through. I contacted The Moving Company to cancel my contact and as i am a disabled Veteran, with limited income, have my deposit refunded, i receiced s very nagative and rude email response, denying my refund as it was more than 48 hours that my contract had been made. Again though i had no intention to cancel, the denial of my loan and loss of the offer changed everything to the point i will have to stay in ******* until i can apply again fogr my GI Loan. My contract with the compant is : M5229405, is estimated total charge of $3,750.00 of which i paide $2,100 deposit, the agent that worked with me was ********. I do not know the persons name that responded with the denial, nor did i keep that letter, unfortunately *****************************, PhDs Toxic Veteran, (Ret.)

Zero stars. BAIT AND SWITCH ALL THE WAY!!! Avoid these guys at all costs. OR, if your OK with your estimate going up by 300%, go ahead.

I would like to echo every negative review that you see on this BBB site. Rather than write (again) the lengthy negative review about this company. I would suggest that you go to the yelp review I wrote. I would respectively suggest that you read it and heed it. There are others on yelp as well, all negative. In my zeal to get my move underway, I neglected to vet this company, much to my dismay.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY--THEY ARE A FRAUD. i called them to help assist our long distance move and spoke w/ ****, (not sure if that is his real name but when he sent me an email w/ binding contract that is the name of the person it came from). in the beginning everything sounded good and legit. he even gave me his contact number where he told me i can call or text anytime if i needed anything regarding the move. i even asked him if my deposit is refundable if i need to cancel or make any changes and he told me that as along as i gave him at least 7 days for any changes i can get my deposit refunded. after he collected $1600 for the deposit, he sent me a text message maybe one week after that. then a few weeks ago, i've been hearing a lot of moving company scammers and something inside me told me to look them up. sure enough, i read a lot of people complaining about them. i then called the company and told them that i am no longer moving and requesting to cancel my reservation and request for my deposit. ******* customer ********************** rep that i spoke to said that first 48 hrs of cancellation they are entitled to 20% of the deposit but after 48 hours, deposit becomes non refundable unless approved by manager. so i told him that since i am not cancelling it by choice but because we are no longer relocating, if they can make an exemption. he told me to email billing **** and request for refund w/ explanation why i needed to cancel to see if they will approve the refund. sure enough, my request my denied. and the funny thing is, i tried calling the phone number that **** M** was calling me w/ during the initial contact, i gets forwarded to a total different person's voicemail. it suddenly belongs to a ********************* w/ equality insurance department but when i tried using another person's cell phone and called it **** magically answered it. PLEASE PEOPLE DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!!

They quoted a price of **** and I said that was too high but thanks anyway. They called back and offered the same services for ****. I accepted. After the showed up, they tried to change the initial quoted price, plus additional cost. I told then I want gonna pay that much when 1st quoted and nothing has changed. They left, I made other arrangements and grid to get my 840 deposit back and they said I refused services and I said no, I refused to pay more than I was quoted. This was a scam from the initial phone call and they knew they were misleading me from the beginning. SCAM. Still working on getting my deposit back. STAY CLEAR OF THIS MOVING COMPANY
