The restaurant charged more than the the listed price and then added an additional **** service charge. The advertisement was buy one get one free. The price is listed as ***** and should have been *****. The restaurant charged ***** and deducted ***** (for the free meal). They advertised a .49 delivery fee and charged that an additional **** service fee. No where on the site and when I checked out was an additional service fee mentioned. I feel completely ripped off. Uber Eats customer support acknowledged that I had been mischarged, but the agent said that there was nothing they could do. That the (mis)charges were valid even though she had just said that I was overcharged.Initial Complaint

I received a gift card from my co-workers purchased on February 22, 2022, at 08-PITA FAYETTEVILLE for the amount of $50.00. On March 11, I tried to use the gift card for a carryout order. I was told by the associate the card was invalid which I did not understand because I had the receipt for the card. Another associate proceeded to state that not all franchises honor gift cards and I would have to go the store it was purchased. The card was purchased from their store, but they would not honor the card because the owner would have to verify the gift card which I did not understand. They suggested I pay for the order and the owner would take care of the gift card the next time I come in. I finally had the opportunity to talk to the owner who mention changing the registers and something about a merchant number. I asked if pay for the order will he reimburse me and he stated he would honor the gift card only. So, I repeated if I pay cash now will you return the cash and take the gift card. The owner, if it was the owner on the line.... stated I could use the gift card when he returns on Monday. There was nothing on the website warning the consumer that gift cards could not be used in their store. They did not honor the gift card and I refused to pay and not be reimburse for the gift card. I ended up going to Long Horn for dinner and will not visit a Pita Mediterranean Street Food again. I would like the owner to refund the gift card since it can only be used when he is working in the store.
