On ********,2022, I received a call from my landlord saying that she was coming to conduct an inspection. She said that she had sent an email last week saying there would be an inspection. I did later validate that she indeed had done so I just didn't see it. She came to the house to conduct the inspection and only asked if I had a working smoke detector (yes), a carbon monoxide detector (no), a fire extinguisher (no) and anything that needed to be fixed. She then told me that my dog is a prohibited breed in the neighborhood and that he had to be gone in 24 hours. All of this took place in my living room and other than checking a water damaged spot in my son's closet that looks as if it has mold; which has been there since we moved in in ***** of 2020; she didn't actually conduct an inspection. She asked about my rental assistance application, to which I told her they needed an accurate copy of my lease saying I paid $600 a month instead of the original copy that depicted $550; which is the only thing lease copy she has sent me that still has the prev. landlords signature on it. She then told me to come to the office and to get both the lease and the extinguisher. The orig. lease doesn't have a list of prohibited breeds on it nor was I told when I got him he wasn't allowed and I've had him almost 2 yrs. She told me the parks insurance made the decision & even large emotional support dogs aren't allowed. She stated that the park is trying to only have small animals and lap dogs here. Keep in mind she has seen this dog with me before and even told me to keep an eye on him so no one would steal him because he's so friendly. He is never outside without me, and is always contained when I leave. I went to the office and left with a whited out copy of the original lease and NO fire extinguisher. I then called a family member that lives here who has the same breed of dog as me and they said they did not get in an inspection nor were they told they couldn't keep their dog.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/05/03) */ We have just currently started up our inspection this year due to management change. All tenants under our leases will have inspections. Ms.******'s issues will be taken care of. Also, my maintenance fixed issues with the deck there a week before and these issues were not brought to his attention. We let her know that we would bring her a fire extinguisher, or if she would like to pick it up when she came to get her lease, she could pick it up. She stormed out of the door cussing about the dog that is not allowed here. We do not allow aggressive breed dogs in our park, anyone spotted with aggressive breeds are given a 24-hour notice to remove the animals from the park. I am submitting a copy of the lease with the highlighted area for the dogs. She moved in when previous management was here. I updated the old lease due to us going to a new lease form soon. That's why I marked through the old lease she needed an updated copy with current rent for rental assist. The old lease was from past management. We will have a new lease of our own soon. Thanks, Creekside management Consumer Response /* (2000, 10, 2022/05/03) */ Firstly, I will clarify that I did not storm out nor did I cuss. I told her I was not getting rid of my dog who has never hurt anyone and to have a good day. I would secondly like to make it known that agai. There is nothing on that lease that spe ifies which dogs are not allowed. I had had mi dog since before the current park manager came out so she has seen him on several occasions. I understand that there are policy changes but if he has not given anyone reason to view him as aggressive he should not be labeled as such. He is also a registered emotional support animal and after speaking with a legal advisor I have been informed that it is against federal law to remove emotional support animals based off a presumption of the breed and not their actual behavior. I understand change and have no issue with it but if it was not specified before, I don't feel I nor my child should be punished now. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/05/05) */ Ms.******'s roof was fixed. The animal is still on the property & needs to leave the property. If she doesn't get rid of the animal, she will be given a notice to vacate the property. Thanks Consumer Response /* (3000, 15, 2022/05/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) And should that become the case I will be filing a report in court.
