A mechanic I've used for years. I took my truck to him because engine was blown on the number six cylinder which need the head replacement on a 12.7 Detroit; so I towed my truck from Dublin ga to his shop in hephzibah Ga ;where it sat from May 5 2020- Sept 20 2020; which he said he rebuilt the engine; so I gave him a cashiers check for $16,500 and I was told it was a fresh engine inframe rebuild and new head and new injectors. So I ran the truck on the road from Sept 26 2020- Jan 10 2021 and an engine failure was diagnosed by a shop in Dalton ga. I called Southern Diesel repair to discuss the situation and he just got quiet on the phone and said bring it by the shop in 30 mins which I had to tow it there but I haven't heard from him til this day about a refund or anything .So I towed it back to Augusta ga to Elite diesel and they diagnosed it as engine failure as well; so they tore the engine down on February 16 2022 and realizes Southern Diesel repair didn't replace any parts in the engine; just only the head; and didn't cut the engine block to be prepared for the rebuild; so that was the 2nd red flag. I have all the old liner and pistons and the old injectors that Elite Diesel took out the engine; and was I hurt and disappointed because my exact words to him was I ONLY TRUST YOUR WORK; so finally after waiting on all new parts to arrive APRIL 15 2022 for a full rebuilt kit. My truck was finally finished on April 20 2022; with a $13,487.01 later by Elite diesel with paperwork. I chased Southern Diesel Repair LLC for months on the paperwork and he never provided me a parts or labor list; I'm so disappointed and lost of words and out of $16,500. What a disgrace. Please save yourself the trouble and don't deal with Southern Diesel Repair.
