            I was initially charged $2880 for top dressing then after job was completed I received an additional bill for $3800. He put out too much sand and buried my sod close to 6 inches deep. As a result close to ***** sqft of sod died. I had spend over $10,000 to replace sod. I sent pictures, called him, and ask him to come look but he kept ignoring me and stating it would take a year for it to recover. I requested for to reimburse me half of the cost but he refused and stated he retired and sold the business. This company is a scam.

            Sandman claims we own $800 for services rendered over 4 years ago. The Sandman spread topsoil after we had canceled service. Fortunately, we have documented communications confirming we canceled. In an attempt to resolve this, the Sandman requested that we pay for materials, which we did. Again, we have documents to support this. The Sandman has filed suit is state court. Normally disputes like this are settled in small claims court. Filing is state court is a tactic used to force settlement because you need an attorney. An attorneys fees are often more than the amount in dispute. No attempt has been made to collect or solve this prior to the suit. I believe he waited right up to the statute of limitations to file, in hopes we would not have retained documents. Not a very ethical way of doing business. In frivolous cases, defendants can seek attorneys fees if they prevail. We will be requesting those fees when our case is tried.
