      I received a referral by Home Advisors for a landscaping person and **** of Signature Lawn came to me. I explained what I needed done and he agreed. Nothing happened for weeks, although it was late Spring. I had originally told him I wanted him to use the 120 bags of mulch and the stone I had purchased. He walked over w me and said that would b fine. Weeks went by and although I called and texted, I never heard anything. No response. Since my daughter works remotely from home and her office overlooks the landscaped area, she sees everything that is being done. Finally one day while I was on my way to work, I received a text saying "guess we are coming to u place today" It was beginning to rain. My daughter Saud they drive up at 9:05 and started working, mainly putting in a few hideous flowers. They didn't use the screen to prevent weeds or the mulch, etc. It continued to rain lightly, the workers got in their truck, waited a bit, got back out and did a few more things. It started to rain harder and the workers left. We assumed they would be back since none of the supplies were used. And almost everything I asked to have done wasn't. No one ever returned and I kept calling and texting the owner. Finally one day in late August, he picked up the phone. When I asked him, he said we are done with u job. I was shocked. It was worse than when they began. O called HOME ADVISORS and filed a complaint, after receiving a **** **** for 4 hours of work, not using any of my supplies. HA advised me to file the complaint. The owner called, came out and when I asked him why he didn't use the supplies I furnished. Do the total job. He had excuse after excuse. He forgot to tell his men, it couldn't be done, etc.etc. he sent out a guy two weeks later to trim a ****. All the cut branches were left on the top of ****. I'm trying to get my house ready for sale. It's worse than when they started. Please help. $**** for 4 hours and I spent **** on supplies.

      I met with the customer in late June, provided her a quote with detailed information along with a drawing of the plant placement and type. I informed the customer that we were approximately 4 weeks from beginning the job. Below is the text from the original quote

      Landscape Installation Quote for front of house

      We will grind/remove stumps from juniper and other plants that are non desirable.
      We will prepare area for new plantings
      We will deliver and install plants as shown in provided drawing.
      We will use existing retaining wall blocks to repair wall along driveway and sidewalk.We will make repairs on existing retaining wall to level areas that have shifted with time.
      Area will be finished with ***** Hardwood Mulch.

      Optional: $2,100.00
      We will install cap stone on top of existing retaining wall. This is dependent on finding a suitable color of cap to match existing wall. 

       

      We completed the job as described and drawn. The customer called me after I sent the invoice, which was the exact amount on the quote. I met the homeowner and her daughter on September 15th. They informed me of four issues that needed to be address. I agreed and sent a crew to handle all of the stated concerns. I have had no contact with the customer since that day. The customer has not paid any money to my company at this point.

      **This is the comment from another landscaper. Because the real estate agent was anxious for me to get this corrected, I had to pay an additional $**** to have Signature's work corrected and my landscaping redone. Please see her comments but please do not share her name or number with Signature. I do not want her hassled like he did me by sitting outside my house, taking pictures and being very threatening.       "Thank you for seeing me today. So much to discuss.

       

      First probably, is that Creative License is a 2021 Nextdoor Favorite, with good reviews. You might look me up on Nextdoor.

       

      Secondly, after thinking of your situation, I believe I'd best serve you by

      (1) 'Rejuvenating' the ligustrum that is too tall above your window, or at least trimming it by one half

      (2) Pruning roses

      (3) Removing all Crape Myrtles

      (4) Spraying weeds with Glyphosate

      (5) Spreading clean pine straw

      You will see a noticeabledifference in these clean **** It doesn't add color, but it cleans up the front well. Remember, if your eye is happy, your brain is happy. My estimate at this writing is ****, which includes 4 debris hauls, considerable cost but this is the way we properly dispose of debris, in a landfill rather than on the side of the road.

       

      Thirdly, you are in a pickle with the last landscaper's work. He did very sloppywork. If it had been my ************** we would have removed the crapes, cut the Ligustrum by half, at least, and have grouped the installed shrubs differently. With weed fabric, which I understand the last landscaper installed, my estimate would have been around $3,500. Dealing with a steep incline such as yours is tricky and creates more man-hours. I get that. I agreed with the amount of shrubs planted, but not the placement. I would have done it differently.

       

      Fourth, for seasonal color, swap out the annuals along your front walk for pansies in one color, a 'Giant' or 'Colossal', or other 'large-bloomed' pansy. Add another bag of soil to your 'raised' bed. You might add snapdragons behind them. And if you have an extra pot, fill it with an ornamental cabbage or Rhubarb (which goes great with pansies and snapdragons).

       

      I am booked until December 18. If you wish my ************* to clean up for you, please let me know and I will schedule. A deposit of 60% at scheduling will be due ($1800) at scheduling.

      I can only do what I agreed to do for the customer. Everything that was done by the other company was additional work that was not in my proposal. The customer did not want the Crape Myrtles removed. Everything that was described, in writing, in my proposal was completed. As I stated before, I met with the homeowner after the project was complete and she had 4 items that needed to be addressed. We addressed those items and have had no other communication about the project. You will see in the description that the person agrees with the plant material and quantity but did not like the placement of the plants. That is a matter of opinion and personal preference.  The plants are placed as shown on the provided and agreed upon drawing.  The customer has not reached out to me or responded to my communication, nor has she submitted any payment for services completed.
