      I reached out to *****, who is the owner of "In motion movers" and requested this moving company to move my furniture in the month of November. ***** agreed and was available for the move date of November 30, 2022 and requested a deposit of $100 to reserve the day, and which I paid via Cash app. ***** also texted me the rates for a 2 man job of $250 for the first hour which included the truck, and $100 an hour after. I texted ***** the day before to confirm the time of 6pm to arrive at my address and he agreed. ***** and another crew member arrived late at 7:15pm on November 30, 2022 and then out of nowhere, ***** stated that I had to pay cash after the furniture was moved into the truck before his company would move my furniture into storage and I conveyed to ***** that he didn't text or say anything about having to pay cash until he showed up. I conveyed to ***** that I didn't feel comfortable paying cash, but I didn't have a choice since he was already there and ***** promised to give me a receipt for the cash payment. ***** started at 7:30pm and finished loading the truck at 9:15pm and we had to drive 20 min to storage unit. ***** began to be really combative and irritated because I didn't have cash. I went to bank, withdrew $440.00 which included an extra hour for him to return the next day to finish moving furniture from my old home to storage. I gave ***** a total of $540 and ***** and his moving company took my cash, and didn't return the next day like he promised, nor did he give me a receipt as I requested for my records. I called and texted ***** the next day and he refused to respond or keep his word. I now have to pay another moving company to move the furniture out of my house that I paid him for. This was a terrible experience with this moving company and plan on taking them to small claims court. This company has terrible reviews and I wished I knew better and hope they don't rob and take money from other innocent people. I also contacted the police.

      Im sorry you had a bad experience with my company. As I explain with every customer, there is $100 deposit before each job to reserve your spot. Also, I explain to my customers that schedule later in the day, if I have a job before them, it may possibly run into their schedule time. Even though we arrive to this job late, we were effective and efficient and getting it done. When I first arrived at this job site, I apologized for the late notice and asked if it was okay for him to pay via cash due to a recent dispute I was handling with another customer that affect my business account. Throughout this job this customer kept acting irrational (possibly due to him currently going through his divorce), by showing weapons he carried and complaining about the prices he already agreed to. As I started to feel uneasy, as far as completely getting paid when the job was done, I asked for the amount to be paid before we unloaded his furniture. Company policy via my contract: In the event a customer does not pay in full, In ********************************************** has the right to retain customers property. After everything was settled, we moved his furniture into his storage unit and left for the day. Based on the hard time this customer gave me, I felt uneasy about returning the next day to move his last piece (a bed frame) so I decided not to return the next day.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The response from Motion Movers completely false and ***** is not telling the truth about anything in his response and he knows it. ***** has had numerous complaints from other customers in the past who he was conducted unpleasant and unprofessional business with. I am NOT the only victim! There was promises made to return to property after ***** was paid and he didnt. I was showing my stepson my pistol next to my car away from ***** who is the house taking a break, while hes helper worker was outside taking another smoke break, wasting time again and he came over to my car inquiring about what I had in the trunk. His helper mover came to my car also showing me his pistol that he had on him, which was a tan Glock 17. I was just trying to be nice to another person who also carried a weapon and talked about how its for our protection. And that was it. ***** is making up excuses for his lack of Professionalism, showing up and hour late, forcing me to pay cash at last minute snd held my furniture hostage until I paid cash. With no prior communication, rushed unprofessional moving   Of my furniture, and worst of all, I have given ***** $540 for only 2 hours of moving and ***** promised to come back the next day to complete the job he was paid for and he never responded to text or calls. ***** knows he is lying and making up excuses for his broken promises. I asked ***** for a receipt of the $440.00 given in cash to him and he promised he would provide and never did. I asked ***** for a contract to sign when he arrived and he never provided. I have notified the police and filled a report and his unprofessional business practices and unprofessional behavior. I have also entered a ****** review of his unprofessional behavior and business practices and lies ***** has told to get away with taking customers money, and have read on ****** reviews that ***** has robbed and treated many other customers similarly. I just made sure I took out the time for others to know and see that ***** is nice to get your money, but a totally different unprofessional person once he gets paid and doesnt keep his word. Its shameful and dishonest the way ***** has conducted business with me and others.
