Date of Transaction - Monday 11/20/23 at 4:00:03 PM My mother went into the store to prepay $40 of gas on pump #5 on her credit card for her 2017 ***** Civic Sedan (4 cyclinder). Her car filled up with $32.85. So we went inside again to ask for change since car filled up and needed change. The male clerk told her that her change would be returned into her credit card and made her place her credit card again. Thinking that would help. She took receipt without looking at it. To her surprise as she got home and looked at it - he charged her $22.85 instead of refunding the prepaid difference of $7.15. Receipt shows charge and time 4:03:49 PM. We went back the next day Tuesday 11/21 around 1:30 PM to get a refund an d resolution. Told her guy to check the *** system and then he claimed my mom told him she wanted more in the pump when the *** shows $32.85. And he did not want to show us the system and claimed she said $25 when he charged an $22.85 - he couldn't explained why that happened nor he wanted to resolve the issue. We reasoned with him and ask him to check his records (all gas stations have this). Does not make sense for a small sedan to use $62.85 to fill up. Most gas stations issue a refund but instead this one committed fraud for a service that was not provided. In return, they did not want to resolve the issue nor look into a solution. This not only is poor business practice, it is FRAUD, and exploitation of customer integrity. My mother as a consumer had good faith that the gas station would refund the $7.15 of unused prepayment back to her card. In turn, they ended up charging $22.85 for a service she did not receive. In addition, to not providing a solution on their end. I am sure this is not the first time the business has done this. Please look into them and their business practices to prevent any future fraud. They need to refund back the $7.15 ($32.85 of $40 prepayment used) + $22.85 fraudulent charge = $30
