This contractor is operating with no contractor license. They claimed they were licensed and accredited, there work was unsafe and we had to have there work redone by a licensed contractor. We had paid for 3/4 of the job and the work was very unprofessional and unsafe. The owner said he could frame and hand drywall and the singe frame he put up would have fallen if he hung any drywall from it. The whole paint job was very bad and they left a mess. I have had to hire a contractor to fix everything.Customer response

Painting Express painted walls and ceiling in a 3 Car Garage for *************** He rehired us to paint his basement on a Monday. We painted walls and trim in 9 of 12 rooms. And demo, hung ,mud and taped 3.5 sheets of drywall in the pantry and mast bedroom closet. Invoice for $3,550 and was given $1,775 as half payment Monday. Friday we was told no one can come to his house on Saturdays. And since the next Monday was a holiday. We could come back for work Tuesday. Which now puts my company in a pediment. He didn't agree to of finishing. So the next day Saturday I was police escorted to their home. Got our equipment and ask for the quarter payment. And $250 cancelation fee which we only got $400 of the quarter payment. Which even the police made them pay. So my company was still took a lose. So my company don't owe ************** and money. If anything he owe Painters Express $350 other half of quarter payment. And our $250 cancelation fee.Customer response

That is not correct, he quoted a full basement pain and demo and rehang drywall, he said it would be done by Friday. The work was started on Monday and when Friday came he was no where near done. There was paint in the floor, the walls and trim were in worse shape them when he started and the drywall had to be removed and rehung correctly. We paid a **** deposit when the work was started on Monday but the r work was never finished. We do not have workers at the house on the weekends so we can have family time. On Saturday painters express showed up with a police officer to collect his stuff that we had put outside once the owner started yelling on the phone Friday night. We gave him all his stuff and paid the 250 cancelation fee. This is a very unprofessional company and owner and I feel like he just took our money. I have since hired another painter to fix everything correctly and he is willing to write something stating what a poor job was done prior. I would like to recover the money since I had to have someone else come and fix everything g painters express did.
