On Friday, May 12th, I visited the Quinn Thrift Store because it's one of my favorite places to go furniture shopping. Although I had a pleasant experience inside the store picking out the furniture pieces I wanted to purchase. The rest of the experience was anything but pleasant. Once I had purchased the furniture, I opted to utilize the delivery service offered by the store for a faster and a more convenient service. All of the furniture pieces I picked out were completely intact with only a few that had some minor scratches that were visible, but I knew exactly where those scratches were located. When the truck finally arrived at the address where the furniture was to be delivered at the house, the driver arrived with two men to assist with the delivery. That driver was so rude and disrespectful to me; he first began to tell me about what he wasn't going to do. I had asked him to help me to take some of the heavier bedroom furniture pieces up to my bedroom located upstairs with just a few flight up the stairs, he straight up informed me that he wasn't going to do so and that he was just going to drop off the furniture in the hallway. Initially, he wanted to drop off and leave the furniture outside in the driveway and rain was expected later that evening and throughout the weekend. When that wasn't enough, he started telling me how he wasn't a delivery service and according to him this is the reason I only paid $30.00 for the delivery at the store. But then I had to correct him and informed him that I paid $60.00 at the store to have the furniture delivered to my house in addition to the $98.00 that I paid for the furniture. Nevertheless, it shouldn't matter if I paid $30, $60 or $360 to have the furniture delivered, I still deserve a kinder, proper and more courteous service than having someone disrespecting me and mouthing off to me because they think that I didn't pay enough for the delivery service. I paid what I was asked to pay. Furthermore, once I had a chance to inspect the furniture pieces, I realized that some of them were bruised during the delivery process. I have photographs of the damages to my furniture.I can just tell the manner he was dragging the furniture off the truck that he gave absolutely no thought and care to the fact that I actually paid for the furniture. He was dragging my fragile coffee table on its fragile legs and not lifting it, which would have been the right way of transporting it. The way furniture pieces were placed on the truck and transported with negligence left pieces missing or items damaged as a result. I purchased the furniture in one manner and by the time they arrived at my house, they were damaged. While I was checking out at the register, I couldn't help but notice that they had put a sign on the counter about the act of being kind to one another. However, that should not stop at the store, I believe that it should go beyond the store to the driver as well as all persons involved in that process from start to finish in order that the customer can have a pleasant experience. I don't understand the reason this driver is doing this job if he is going to be doing it with a spiteful attitude and malice.
