***************************** aka Handyman Construction and Roofing was hired by me on Jan. 29, 2023 to complete a remodeling job of my property that is located in **************. This company was hired to install a laminate beam that would carry the weight of our roof system since load bearing walls were being removed. In this job, walls in our kitchen and dining room were to be removed also. Included in this project was the finishing and painting and also sanding and skim coating the ceilings. This job as stated in its original contract was to start on Jan 30, 2023 and be completed on (Feb 30th). I'm pretty sure that was meant to end on Feb 28th. This uncompleted job went way past the date that was originally promised and the job that was done is completely unacceptable. Below is a list of my complaints:1. The laminate beam that was to be installed in the home was to be a new beam that would be of adequate size to support the removed walls. The beam that was installed was homemade fabricated and was not large enough to fit the ceiling joists that were cut to take on this beam. The installer had to use blocks to extend the length of the joists which has resulting in this not being an adequate means to support this structure which will likely result in ceiling sagging or a future structure failure.A new Contractor has had to be hired to fix this problem. His recommendation is to add another laminated beam and sandwich the current beam with the new beam. This will help carry the load and also adequately fill the miss-cut ceiling joist that were cut too wide. He will also be installing joist hangers on each joist that is to be attached to the laminated beam. The joist were only nailed to the beam which was not a proper construction technique.2. Solid Post were not installed. Molded wood was installed.3. Ceilings were not sanded or skim coated.4. Walls were not finished and painted.5. Property was left very dirty and uncleaned.6. Electrical is inoperable since work was done.
